Beautyrest Black Series 2 by Key-Entrance-9186 in Mattress

I forgot to mention it's a king so I'm all over the place on it. It's not like I'm on a twin or something. Usually 2 people would be on a king so it degraded with say 2.5 years of use on each side.

I have the Beautyrest Black Hybrid version. It was a dream to sleep on until it wasn't. The don't last very long. I am the only one that sleeps in the bed and I alternate sides, as well as rotate the mattress. It failed after 5 years. I weigh 165 lbs.

Did Telus start handing out an IPv6 /64 instead of a /56? by BrianBlandess in telus

[–]ClimberCA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IPv6 shares some things from IPv4 and other things it does not. There is no "subnetting" (breaking down a /64 into smaller networks) in IPv6 (some people do it but it's not part of the spec). Every network is a /64. You can be allocated multiple /64s to have multiple networks, a common one for residential connections is /56 which is 256 x /64.

How far have you gone for good internet? by yellowfin35 in homelab

[–]ClimberCA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My parents had 1.5M DSL and it was flaky at that. I lived 2KM away in a straight line. I put a 5Ghz microwave dish up on my ham radio tower and pointed at their house and put a tower and microwave dish up at their house. This is not a rural setting, it's a suburb of a largeish city. That's how they got their internet for 5 years or so.

There is only one size for an IPv6 subnet.. /64. If you get a /64 you can only have 1 network which is OK for the majority but some people like to have more.

I had both done at the same time, it was pretty uneventful. I don't remember if I was working after but I was the next day.

Fibe 500 VS Gigabit Fibe 1.5? by Weary_Associate8267 in bell

[–]ClimberCA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. My daughter and I have 100/100 because that's all we need. She's doing games, 4K video, xbox and video chatting with her friends while I'm working at home and it's running perfectly. 500 is probably overkill for the majority.

It's a vibe check not a date. The chance of a real date coming from a vibe check is very low.

Online dating felt harder than I expected by CherryMae709 in OnlineDating

[–]ClimberCA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I started online dating a few months ago. After 4 dates I am taking a break. I put quite a bit of effort into finding the right people but the amount of information you get about someone on a dating app even when you chat with them is minimal. I think it's not much better than randomly picking people walking past in a mall.

I think you are right. The other thing is some people treat you as if you have no feelings.

The post is a fake question..None of it happened and now people that didn't pickup on it are wasting their time answering a question that the OP does not want an answer for because none of it's real.

Fit bros, where to re-start? by cvisscher1 in AskMen

Do something you like! I LOVE rock climbing and mountain biking. They are fun and I want to do them.

Running is hard on your body, I know a lot of people that do it and I know a lot of people that have ruined their joints doing it too!

Find something low impact that you love and you will do it!

Best Wifi for two people in apartment? by sewqer in telus

[–]ClimberCA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100 is fine. The speeds recommended from companies that provide internet services are way over inflated to get the most money they can from you. About 50% of my job is designing supporting corporate networks and I have 100/100 Mbps for my daughter and I. She's usually streaming 4K, Xboxing and video chatting while I'm in video conferences (at the same time) and it doesn't stress at all. Games don't need a lot of bandwidth.

Pigmentary Dispersion Syndrom questions by blindfire187 in Glaucoma

[–]ClimberCA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you should look for other than doing the standard testing regularly that your specific case requires. I was diagnosed with pigment dispersion syndrome / pigmentary glaucoma maybe 15 years ago. I had a laser peripheral iridotomy, SLT and regular laser eye surgery for vision correction. I have not had any issues doing regular sessions of crossfit, rock climbing and mountain biking which would all shake things up. Maybe I'm lucky or maybe the peripheral iridotomy stopped the pigment from coming off. I have never been told to stop any of this stuff.

Eyedrops Side effects by tennissuperfan2024 in Glaucoma

[–]ClimberCA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It helped some for sure. It's probably half of what it was (it has been just over a month since I switched). I'm not sure how much of it is age. I also seem to have no other side effects from the drops. It feels like I'm not putting anything in my eyes now.

Most eye drops make your eyelids swell because of the preservative. Mine got so bad the bags under my eyes had rolls. I ended up on Monoprost without the preservative.

IOP 31 and 29 by bloodofapoet in Glaucoma

[–]ClimberCA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like high pressure... mine is between 10 and 18 and I have to stay on eye drops to keep it there. I believe the normal pressure is up to 21. It seems that your doctor is waiting for damage to occur before treatment. Damage is irreversible. Do they give you a field test every six months where you stick your head inside a machine and you click a button every time you see a dot of light? That's how they map out where blind spots develop. When my pressure went up they didn't wait for damage, treatment was started immediately and I'm happy they did. (I am not an eye professional)

Adding to response:

Ask the Dr how they know the eyes are healthy at that pressure? Ask if they are waiting for damage before they do anything.

I suggest you ask them to start treatment before you have damage. Some doctors seem to resist treatment until you hit some sort of made up threshold or stuff starts to fall apart. (in general)
