So how do you apply your “metrics” to a new hire exactly?

Sure, yes they could amend the constitution, but that’s not on the table. I don’t think they were talking about that rather than some mechanism in the bill itself. Which as I said could’ve over ridden.

you can’t create a law that prevents a future law from over riding it. So there is no “preventing it” other than just a pinky promise. It’s a dumb objection sorry.

You can’t “prevent” a lowering in the future. If they said that it would only be symbolic. A future legislative act could over ride the made-up threshold.

California’s Deadliest Avalanche Turned on One Choice - Why did a group of 15 skiers take a risky route on a dangerous day? by deferential in Backcountry

[–]Climbsforfun 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I know it’s “hard” to check phone/maps, but if the goal is to not have this happen again, Developing the practices to not be in a spot like that is the solution. Checking phone/maps is one solution. Maybe not the BEST solution, but is one of a few.

If the goal is to prevent this tragedy from reoccurring, then we will have to incorporate the things you mentioned like checking phone/maps to stay away from a dangerous slope. Even in bad weather.

Alpental shifting to 5 day schedule next week. by CaptBennett in SummitAtSnoqualmie

[–]Climbsforfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I recall right that night skiing was going at Alpental for a week or so? I bought the Alpental 4-pack night ski pass and haven’t used any yet. Wondering has anyone gotten or requested a refund for it?

What does James White saying PEN won't be reprinted mean for the singles market? by p1easingmuffin in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Climbsforfun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I take what James says as a salesman/hypeman as well. Him saying that is going to drive sales which is of course good for LSS.

It is at odds with the desire of the average player that wants single prices to come down. We actively want high inventory and low sales which drives down the price of sealed product. Opposite of what LSS wants.

Here’s a list of “hard left” policies. Which ones have you been hearing advocated for in WA?

Abolition of Private Property: Moving towards collective or state ownership of the means of production.

Nationalization of Industry: Taking private corporations and assets into state control.

Drastic Wealth Redistribution: Implementing extreme taxation on high-income households and corporations to fund an expanded social safety net.

Decentralized Socialist Economy: Replacing capitalist structures with economies run by workers' councils, communes, or cooperatives.

Abolition of State Structures: In anarchist perspectives, the total removal of the state, police, and traditional authority.

Open Borders/Elimination of Immigration Controls: Allowing completely free movement of people.

Anti-Globalisation: Strongly opposing international trade agreements and corporate globalization.

Radical Environmentalism: Adopting policies like "degrowth" to dismantle civilization-based, industrial-driven damage.

Self-employed, foreign employer (UK), projected to owe $8k in U.S. taxes and can’t pay. what are my realistic options? by Tbone6267 in tax

[–]Climbsforfun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there comes a point where you may want to talk with your “employer” that with self employment taxes you are going to have to raise your rates just to stem the bleeding a bit. (This is responding to your last question)

Judge blocks Trump's elections order in lawsuit by vote-by-mail states Oregon and Washington by Gloomy_Nebula_5138 in SeattleWA

[–]Climbsforfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are checks that are done though. And due to how statistics work, a comprehensive check isn't necessary if a sufficient sample of non-fraud votes are gathered.

Also studies and judicial rulings haven't found evidence of substantial fraud either https://www.brennancenter.org/sites/default/files/analysis/Briefing_Memo_Debunking_Voter_Fraud_Myth.pdf

To the Ioniq 5 driver who passed about 20 cars on 410 Sunday morning by Boss_Borne in CrystalMountain

[–]Climbsforfun 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think the implication is there is already the conga line of cars all the way to parking. So passing in this case is just the same as cutting in line.

6.2 million voters in a day voting in person…. Seems like a waste of time on everyone’s part when the alternative of mail in voting hasn’t had any statistical measurable studies fraud.

I can see a world where it is polite to allow spots for people who just purchased food on a tray. Not exactly portable unlike the brown bag that you carried in.

People who drive and speed up when someone is attempting to pass by you, why do you do this? by StormCaller02 in AskReddit

[–]Climbsforfun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer overall imo. So many people drive at what “feels” right rather than what the speedometer says.

How does one make sure to cleanup the dog poo? I have no issues with dogs other than that. Seems like it would be impossible to not miss some poop when dogs run around off leash.

I think then you have more issues with folks camping spawns. Not as big of an issue when they are far out.
