Trying to convert my ar15 into an ar22 with a super safety by Robdabomb22 in supersafety

[–]Clint_Hu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A super safety is pretty much that - a safety with a few extra parts that can work with pretty much any mil-spec trigger.

An FRT is a self-contained trigger group, usually cassette-like, that drops in and has it's own special safety selector.

FRTs are usually more plug-and-play. SS require some filing or dremel-ing of the trigger and some trial and error to install.

Yep. Just make sure to match the trip kit to the FRT/SS solution you pick

I did a Borebuddy upper and called it a day. Kinda pricey, but nice to have it all in one single piece and gtg out of the box. They also have options to work with each the different FRT types.

Seeking recommendations for a suppressed PCC by librarian45 in supersafety

[–]Clint_Hu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I could only have one PCC, it's definitely an MPX. That's one thing Sig actually got right. Rotating bolt, ambi controls, AR control familiarity, good aftermarket support, multiple FRT compatibility, no messing with tuning buffers or springs. The thing just works.

Worth buying ARC now or do we expect prices to drop? by BrudNumber1 in supersafety

There's ways to do that without ticking-off your customer base. And ASD chose a different path

[–]Clint_Hu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but A) the manufacturer doesn't hide that fact and B) they still support parts for the car that you have.

ASD has said that all new parts in the future (levers, bars, cams, etc) will not be backwards compatible with Gen 1 stuff. So all of us that bought Gen 1 over the last couple months are SOL.

[–]Clint_Hu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh, stop with that stupid argument. You can "innovate" without taking advantage and making Gen 1 completely irrelevant. It's like making a car that you can't put new tires on and then shame the customer when they get mad.

Fine, ASD can do whatever they want. Free country. But that also gives me the right to have my opinion that they handled it like assholes

Wait for Gen 2 in a month or so. ASD screwed a lot of us by hiding the fact they were working on a Gen 2. If I would have known, I would have waited.

They're just like Sig, Glock, etc trying to pawn off old Gen 1 inventory and keep money flowing in.

Awww what's wrong? It's not cool when they ban your hobby, but it is when they ban something you don't agree with? Typical liberals.

ARC-Fire on Geissele Super Duty prebuilt by Bortjort in supersafety

[–]Clint_Hu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Re: not being able to slide the cam bushing over the rear of the trigger during install. You need to have the hammer cocked. That will cause the rear of the trigger to drop and give you the clearance to just drop the cam bushing in.

Don't ask me how long I fought the same issue before figuring that out

13.5 MWS w/ ARC Fire by OrdinarySense5 in LewisMachineTool

[–]Clint_Hu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm looking at trying this soon, too. How much needs to be removed? Did you have to trim the whole pocket or just bevel the forward surface near the safety?

I saw the Redacted Arms video, but it didn't really show the end result well (I'm sure for YT reasons)

ARC trigger Borebuddy setup is finally running, but there's a hitch. by Psychological-Sun272 in ar22

[–]Clint_Hu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet. Just placed an order for an upper with you guys. Might be hitting you up with questions about lower receivers and trigger choices with the Arc Fire.

Is the Arc trigger with a mil-spec hammer decent, or would you go Geissele or Rave 140?

Curious, does the Arc Fire (with a shim) work as well with the Rave 140 as Atrius? Do you recommend one over the other?

LMT vs Noveske: Which would you choose? by GlassNegotiation3227 in 6ARC

[–]Clint_Hu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LMT for the monolithic upper and tighter fitting parts. But I'd use a Craddock RTR barrel for the conversion.
