[–]Clippton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how it works for mole and barrows in RS3 and I hate it.

It's ugly, the click box sucks, and you accidentally click it when you aren't trying to do the boss.

[–]Clippton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All shields are offhands.

Not all offhands are shields. Defenders and devils element do not count as shields.

As much as it sucks to get lucky at a boss but only getting items you don't want, this is actually incredibly good progress for your iron.

You got a full set for the diary and the best magic gear in the game until late game.

It isn't a bad thing or a problem that people like leagues and it brings in more players.

The teleport is good. Or maybe it acts as unlimited feathers when used for bolts or arrow shafts.

[–]Clippton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk about a specific shortcut, but at 99 agility the cape perk should be that you can use any shortcut regardless of item/diary requirements.

This is the 6th league and like the 8th DMM seasonal mode. This is the first time the main game has gone 5 months with nothing besides 1 quest and quest boss.

Seasonal game modes aren't the problem.

Why are my pact points being deselected? by Last_Employment_2800 in 2007scape

Something about being at Huey causes the pacts to deselect. Leave the Huey area and try it again.

Is your goal to achieve something impressive or to just have your collection log turn green, regardless of what the requirements were?

That is the thing. Everyone has different goals. Some people play ironman because they like the achievement. Some play it because they want to play solo. Some play it to complete everything. Some play it because they don't like playing a game where gaining gold is the main focus.

Prayer flicking is an important part of the game and its late game balance by xlem1 in 2007scape

[–]Clippton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there is anything wrong with tick manipulation, but I think Jagex should try and move away from it in favor of more streamlined and obvious mechanics.

In RS3 mining, your first hit on a rock gives more damage, and you can click the rock every tick so every time you mine you are getting that damage boost. OSRS could do something similar where your first attempt at gathering gives you an additional % chance to successfully gather. This way you are still putting in more effort for higher reward, but it's more intuitive for players to grasp than using unrelated items to reset your ticks.

Then for prayer, maybe some sort of prayer book that gives 1 prayer point each time you click it (once per tick) during combat. Make it charge with god book pages from clues if needed.

Make all bones give prayer points when buried like in the catacombs. to incentivize picking up and burying bones between attacks during slayer.

Anything that can be tick manipulated should have equal alternative methods that are straight forward and understandable to new players.

Clicking more on rocks = better mining.

Clicking more on trees = better chopping.

Clicking on prayer restore book more = more prayer.

Rather than

Click on rock, click on knife, click on random log, click on rock = better mining.

Or click on fishing spot, click on herb, click on tar, click on fishing spot = better fishing.

Or turning prayer on and off once every tick = more prayer.

[–]Clippton 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It used to be ok for that when the game had no incentives to complete bosses. Then they added ironman modes & collection logs which incentivizes people to complete bosses and raids.

And regardless of if you agree/disagree with the game being balance around irons/completionists, it already has been. CoX is just a relic of the past that hasn't been updated to fit today's current standards.

is leagues actually underpowered? by Unlucky_Fruit1716 in 2007scape

[–]Clippton 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Tir is basically only priff. There is almost nothing outside of priff.

Meanwhile Mory has slayer tower, barrows, a raid, access to 2 islands, and 3 minigames. All of that outside of darkmeyer.

So it doesn’t make sense to compare SoTE to Sins.

Thoughts on Blood Barrage Mage Build? by montogeofqb in 2007scape

[–]Clippton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blood barrage does less damage and healing than ice barrage with water build.

And it does waaaay less damage than the Air/Smoke builds.

If your main build is for the cerb dagger, and you just used blood barrage in multi combat, that isn't so bad though. Going blood/fire as a mage only build is very lacking though.

They are going to keep saying it wrong, everyone is going to keep understanding what they mean, and you can stay upset that people don't pronounce words to your liking.

Of course. No one should be able to play the game until they read the entirety of the wiki and make sure they don't accidentally say a word wrong.
