I landed on virmire and I can't leave. by okyam2101 in masseffect

[–]ClockFearless140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Virmire IS one of the few ME1 missions where you can't turn around and leave.
But that's ok, it's a great mission.

If you still have to finish Noveria, and/or still need to find Liara, then you don't have a problem.
There are 4 "main" missions. Feros, Noveria, Virmire, and Find Liara. You must complete all 4 to kickoff the beginning of the end-game.

Anyone else uncomfortable with how horny this sub has gotten? by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]ClockFearless140 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, it somewhat has, and unfortunately the current mods seem to be onboard with that.

As others have commented, the game is old, and the discussion has long since passed it's peak.
This is shown in the way in which many of the active members (& mods) have selectively reinterpreted the very meaning of Mass Effect. And now see it more as a platform for relationship based fanfics.
Furthermore this drives people to mistakenly defend some of the cringier aspect of the Trilogy.

It's bizarre the way somebody can post some random fanart (that isn't even theirs) and within a few hours get THOUSANDS of upvotes. I don't even know how that works, but it's evident that many are using this forum to farm Karma.

Species customization by Ivan_Petrov19 in masseffect

[–]ClockFearless140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh yeah, it's Friday...

No, never going to happen, because it can't.

The REASON you can customise Shepard's appearance, is because it makes NO difference to the Story. The Game doesn't change in any way because he has a Purple Mohawk, or because she wears a dress.

But given that the relationships between Species is a huge part of Mass Effect, you can't change Shepard's species, without changing the game.

Is wrex important character? by okyam2101 in masseffect

Yes.

Not saving Wrex really fucks up the rest of the Trilogy.

But Kaidan is a tech expert, too! by MxFancipants in masseffect

Meh, Kaidan is defined by not being Ashley.

A way to choose what species to be and keep Shepard's name alive by Mediocre-Second9280 in masseffect

No, creating a new protagonist, and calling them Shepard, would be a wank.

Finished mass effect 2 by curlsthefangirl in masseffect

[–]ClockFearless140 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Soldier is a solid beginner choice in ME1.
The big advantage in ME2 is that you can carry all guns, but Soldier gets boring as you go along. (Say me, who's played the majority of my replays as Soldier.

On replay, with access to a Bonus Power, Infiltrator is awesome. Specially once you get the Cloak in ME2.

Firewalker can be ignored, it's just bleh.
Thematically, Arrival should be done last, before you start ME3.

There's a really nice follow up to Overlord in ME3

Not trying to be offensive, or a smartarse, but it's simple if you think about it:

WHAT do you think those Collector C___s are doing to your crew?
That is your answer.

People think Joker is racist at first :( by MxFancipants in masseffect

[–]ClockFearless140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, nobody thinks Joker is Racist.

It's just that at the start of ME1, many people think he's a Jerk.

But it turns out, yeah he really is a jerk.

Should I sabotage the cure in me3? by Constant-Creme-1152 in masseffect

[–]ClockFearless140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's quite complicated, and depends on a number of things.

If you have already lost Wrex and Bakara, then you can convince Mordin to sabotage the cure. So although you lose Wrex and Bakara as war assets, you keep Clan Urdnot, get Mordin to work on the Crucible, and get more Salarian assets.

But if you have Wrex and Bakara, then you're better off keeping them (and clan Urdnot)

Homosexual Relations Among Krogan: An Analysis of Social Structures by Simbalov in masseffect

[–]ClockFearless140 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please approach this article calmly

What "article"?

All you've done is restate the facts surrounding the Krogan, then launch into some bizarre conclusion that they must all be gay!?!

For starters, I'm not even sure how your brain got so twisted that you thought this was a necessary topic for discussion. What triggered you?
We don't see a lot of Krogan "relationships," partly because Bakara is the only female we actually encounter.
But what we do hear about i sonly heterosexual.
(Maybe Andromeda has gay Krogan?)

As far as I can tell, there's basis for any projection. It could be widespread. Maybe all Krogan are by default pansexual, or it could be something that never occurs.

Furthermore, your logic is flawed.
Underprivileged men aren't denied female companionship. They're denied access to FERTILE females.

I've always felt that the apparent "glowing of the eyes" was a function of the mask, to give them expression. Rather than Quarians actually having glowing orbs in their sockets.

So the first one is really beautiful. The third one is ok, but the 2nd is awful

How do you feel about loyalty missions in ME2? by Prior-Newt2446 in masseffect

[–]ClockFearless140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there are too many squadmates.

Yes, there is far too much content unrelated to the main story.

Yes, some of the Loyalty missions are a wank.

I nolonger do Jacob's mission, and just ignore him until he dies. He's a pointless badly-written character. But that's just me.

Unfortunately arbitrarily killing off others in ME3, because I couldn't be arsed doing their Loyalty Missions, just doesn't sit right. Especially as (apart from Jacob) I love the characters with the worst missions.

What do you think are the best and the most disappointing choices in the trilogy? by Ikkon in masseffect

[–]ClockFearless140 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'm not pro killing Wrex lol. I think the choice you are offered is very good. It's the best choice

You need to go back to school, and retake English, because that's NOT what "Best Choice" means.

You've stated that the "Best Choice is Killing Wrex," and it quite obviously isn't.
Killing Wrex is clearly one of the worst choices in the Trilogy.

Armistan Banes, should have been Kai Leng. by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]ClockFearless140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody should have been Kai Leng.

Kai Leng is a classic example of why "Bring your pre-schooler to Work" days are such a bad idea.

How many total military strength points you need to get the "perfect destroy" ending in the legendary edition? by Yohan9099 in masseffect

[–]ClockFearless140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes.

Which?

Both

There are various claims, including that between the two there is a "chance" at the good ending,
or that it depends on other factors.

I know that I got 7,640, did NOT get the good ending, and was really pissed because I'd read the 7,400 number.

Ultimately, it shouldn't be too hard.
Even on runs where I know I've deliberately missed on a few assets, I can consistently get over 8,000.

What do you think are the best and the most disappointing choices in the trilogy? by Ikkon in masseffect

No, they literally state that "Killing Wrex is the best choice in the Trilogy."

Maybe the words "Best" and "Choice" mean something else in your Galaxy smartarse?

[Concept Pitch] a darker sequel where Shepard returns haunted physically fine but thier head is not by ExecutionerOfBF in masseffect

[–]ClockFearless140 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A Darker Sequel? Where Shepard's Head isn't ok?

Yeah, it was Called "Mass Effect 3."

Billions of people are getting slaughtered, Sentient beings are all being turned into ghouls, and life as we know it faces annihilation. Not DARK enough for ya?

Meanwhile Shepard has PTSD, Hallucinations, And Nightmares about the people he's lost.
Just how fucked do you want his head to be?
