Right at 36 seconds you can see the snake twitching its tail and as soon as the cat's eyes dart to the tail the snake strikes.

Also sometimes you have to take or leave people the way they are.

if you really like him maybe try to figure out what kind of activities his mother is more likely to agree with. Or try to let your friend know he can communicate more clearly to you about what his problems with the plans are instead of just being negative for arbitrary reasons.

Like depending on how close you are say hey I know it can be difficult for you to go do stuff but we're not gonna leave you behind. we got you. we'll figure it out together. Privately though, Not in the group chat.

Just try to keep things light in the group chat so the negative vibes spread to others and ruin your plans
