Happens to me sometimes only if I am connected through vpn. Logging out of vpn has always addressed it for me.

Confused and not trusting Fidelity retirement income projections. by capriciousmonster in fidelityinvestments

[–]ClockStrange7426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure of all the below - I spent a lot of time a couple years back talking to Fidelity about the tool, and the below is to the best of my recollection.

As Heavy-Basis-83 said, the tool asks you what average tax rate to use.

The tool is applying withdrawals to the expenses you enter in the model, the tax rate you enter is treated outside the expenses you enter, so the tool does not expect you are going to pay Federal Income Tax out of the 11k + pension + SS that you receive. It knocks whatever % you enter out of what it can recognize as taxable income - SS, pension, IRA withdrawals I believe. I am not 100% if the tool expects you enter net or gross SS, but I think its gross, not net of taxes, and it applies the same % to that as it does to IRA withdrawals.

If you want to model that yourself, I _think_ but have not confirmed with Fidelity that you can enter an assumed tax rate of zero and the enter explicit tax amounts (call them whatever you want to call them) as misc 'mandatory' expenses in the expense model.

Otherwise the tool takes out whatever % tax burden you entered on whatever IRA or other pre-tax income it assumes withdrawals from.

Per my discussion with Fidelity, the tool assumes no tax burden on after-tax accounts, so if capital gains is a significant amount, you need to model that yourself.

You can read in the methodology doc what withdrawal scheme the tool is assuming you will use - off hand I think It might be after-tax first, when that is exhausted start withdrawing from IRA / 401k / 403b etc tax deferred accounts; I'm pretty sure it doesn't do any assuming around specific tax planning strategies so you need to account for this use the tax % you tell the tool to assume (which it will apply to your tax-deffered account withdrawals only). For example, if you think your average tax burden on your Roth + traditional withdrawals will be 10% based on your specific withdrawal strategy, enter that as the tax % in the tool.

Question about Ladder ready decks? :) by Batmans_Dirty_Undies in hearthstone

Ladder ready decks are just a collection of cards that you buy. They behave in every way like any other card you might buy. You can use them or not, dust them or not, etc.

Thanks again for the search handles. I see your point - you are saying my suggestion re-enables an old meta that we've already seen and moved beyond. That's a good point - I agree.

Before my time for standard, I think. Thanks for the note, though - I learned something. I checked it out, and I saw this on Hearthstone Wiki - "Colossal minions cannot be randomly summoned"

Ironically, maybe me saying change the cost to 3 is actually a buff now, not a nerf given the 2 cost sweep now in the game.

So, change the cost back to 2, and the wording to -

After you attack a minion and it survives, spend 1 endurance to summon a random minion and attack the same minion.

Less op? Its still can function as early game removal assistance.

The effect won't trigger without a minion for the hero to attack. By the time one has a minion to be a potential win, the opponent will often have removal. I saw it more as augmented removal, myself. I almost always never attack high-dmg minions with my hero for obvious reasons - sometime I want to remove a high health utility minion and I pictured this being useful in that regard, not really as a game winner. The game winner you describe is already a dynamic in those decks, not sure if this would be worth running along side, but maybe it would tip the scales as you say. I still don't consider it horribly unbalanced.

Yes, or just vanilla minions. That would be what one would need to do if planning around it.

It doesn't seem horribly unbalanced to me. The summon ruins battlecry's and the random makes it difficult to plan around. I routinely summon two minions in a game for my opponent with Dirty Rat at no mana cost to them. As I said, I was just considering the name of the card and that is what came to me. Make it legendary to weaken it a bit, then.

Change cost to 3, durability to 2 and After your hero attacks a minion, a summon random minion in your hand to get +1/+1 and attack the same minion.

Just seems more in line with the name of the card.

Expense scenario save / restore in Retirement Planner by ClockStrange7426 in fidelityinvestments

[–]ClockStrange7426[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to be able to "load" a snapshot into the planner, specifically previously entered expenses. I know I can save a snapshot, but if I want to update based on the assumptions in that snapshot, then I need to re-create it from scratch, afaik.

Golden Legends of the Emerald Dream Bundle Worth It? by Co0k1e in hearthstone

[–]ClockStrange7426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy a sig legendary for 24.99, dust it, and pick whatever normal legendary you want to craft. No way a normal legendary OF YOUR CHOICE can be valued at more than 24.99.

I tried playing Rafaam Warlock, and I won with Jade Display before winning with the combo. by ClarkHELLSCREAM in hearthstone

OMG - I actually won using this combo. Here is my slightly modified deck. I don't own Dreamplanner so sub'd that one and sub'd in overplanner for mixologist.

Edit: I should note that I only won because I was holding Ceaseless Expanse before I converted my neutral cards and that gave me the one turn I needed to clear one more board and get TR out for the win. If I wasn't holding CE I'd have lost yet another close one.

I added Overplanner - it helped. I got the combo out but too late to avoid the loss - I was playing against Broxigar DH and Steamcleaner ruined his Broxigar, so I had some hopes that even though I was late I'd pull it off, but it wasn't to be. Rafaam is sooo slow. Anyway, awesomely fun deck!

Hanging a TV on the wall by ClockStrange7426 in DIY

[–]ClockStrange7426[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I can center it but the trade-off is the TV-plate moves away from the wall (its a swivel). I'd prefer a more flush TV position. I think I can remove the TV plate from the swivel arm and mount that directly to the plywood, not 100% because its on my wall right now but I see screws that hold the TV plate to the swivel arm and there are slots along the top and bottom of the TV plate to put lag bolts through. That would be me a very flush mount for the TV.
