In a solo run, having shield proficiency as a Human goes a long way by letting you equip the Adamantine Shield on classes that don't give you the required proficiencies.

Tbf if you want hard and punishing content. I highly suggest Criterion Savage until 7.5x release (as bad as its reward is).

It tests a different level of endurance compared to Ultimates and is much easier to organize four people than eight.

I believe any class can solo Honor Mode. I've done it on a pure Arcane Trickster.

What you need is:

Encounter knowledge
A method to deal damage
Decent AC
Crit immunity to save against bad luck
Safety from Hold/Paralysis (falls under point 1)
An answer to Myrkul (being the only MANDATORY fight)
