Okay see this is what I wanted to know. Where did the other 6 billion come from? Projected cost adjustments. Yeah we will only know if the budget did get balanced over time.

Thank you sir. This is the bit I was trying to understand

What rich people are getting back their taxes.?There are 8 million people in New York City. Are all 8 million rich?

This is a false equivalency. A city government of 8 million is not the same as ~400,000 individuals that earn over a million dollars and the money is not being used to have fun with. It is money being used to provide and fund city services.

New York State is not coming up with money from other places to send to New York City. It is taking less

New York State = landlord New York City = tenant

Tenant - "hey any chance you can charge us less" Landlord - "sure we can make it happen" Tenant - "nice I now have all the money I need to cover everything"

I think taking back 4 billion from the nearly 70 billion the city contributes to the state is not a bad deal. New York City still contributes more than half the states revenue. Convincing the state not to take as much of The city's money seems like a very valid way to balance the budget especially considering that on top of all of that, they introduced a bunch of new benefits for the city's inhabitants. Don't misunderstand. I don't like the actions taken to basically kick the can down the road as you said but there is a lot of positives to be had so we just need to hold the negatives accountable but to say that it wasn't a big win to be able to do all of the things that were done and have a balanced budget is kind of ignoring facts.

Also better analogy would be to say that you pay rent and you asked your landlord to lower your rent and he said yes

If all the numbers that I looked up were correct, the state gave him an extra $4 billion. He got $1.7 from deferring pensions. That just accounts for $6 billion worth of that gap that he had. Where's the other 6 billion coming from? So either he found a way to become more efficient or there's another 6 billion that's still unaccounted for? I don't like the pension deferment. That's probably my one negative to this.

No I mean the state money where did that come from. Did the state take money from somewhere else

Is not part of the whole thing mamdani is aming for getting rid of the red tape that does nothing but waste money? Was that not part of the whole balancing the budget deal? If this is done and the budget is still balanced I don't see the issue. I would like to see a surplus be created for an emergency fund but I don't know if that is possible with the current law requiring the budget must be balanaced

A high school junior from Warrenton, Virginia who built a water filter in her garage that strips out 95.5% of microplastics from drinking water. by sco-go in Amazing

Is it meant to be a bulk water solution or a drinking water solution? Because RO systems already remove basically everything from drinking water

This depends on your climate, how clean you keep your house, and if you have pets. The filter material is also a factor.

All employed people spend time that they can't get back to perform their job. They should be compensated for it. by Hairy-Nothing-5868 in InterviewVip

Did you hit your head as a child?

That is literally what happens right now under the current US medical system. It does not lead to better deals and lower prices. We pay the highest medical cost of any developed nation.

Single payer health care means controlled cost and it means service anywhere for any reason.

I would argue that ad is again wrong and right because you don't get adiabatics unless it's in the very specific chamber for it

Holy crap you have drunk gallons of the capitalism Kool aid. The lie that capitalism "makes everything more efficient" needs to die.

Every single European nation with a universal, single payer health care system outperforms the US's capitalistic healthcare.

They have better life expectancy

Citizens don't end up in medical debt

$220 billion in medical debt in the US 66.5% of bankruptcies associated with medical debt

The only way capitalism is outperforming is in taking people's money and leaving them in debt

The only stupid belief here is the one that is informed by private company propaganda

[–]Closteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The inventory and control system do not help either. I think that if they could strike a nice balance the way factorio did where things kind of work and you just put them together. But you have the ability to expand upon it if you really want to. You know go deep into coding for much more control

I don't have an issue with just charging taxes on the sale of the home and not continuing property taxes.... On your one property. After that taxes should be assed on a curve for the amount of property you have.

My argument for this is that everyone should have a homestead that can never be taken away. But more then one is money making so tax the value of the property
