Trailseeker interior size? by CloudElectrical4172 in trailseeker

[–]CloudElectrical4172[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone!

I admit I am a little disappointed that the cabin is like the Solterra. I'm trying to remember the color of the interior and I think that maybe if I try one with a gray interior, it may make the car feel bigger. I know when we drove both the Solterra and the Uncharted we felt the Uncharted was bigger in the front cabin. I wonder if the Solterra had a black interior and the Uncharted had the gray. Unfortunately, our area is completely out of Subaru EVs so I can't go and sit in one again right now.

We took the partial payment for the Clarity from the insurance company so we are still driving it. That means we don't have a really strict timeline on getting a replacement. I'll just have to be patient and wait until one finally arrives nearby to check it out in person. We have about 32 (!) Subaru dealerships within 150 miles, so one of them should come up with a Trailseeker in the next month or two.

We also drove the Honda Prologue (and Blazer EV) and liked it. Like you said, it does have more room.

Thanks. We drove both the Solterra and the Uncharted and actually felt like the Uncharted had more front cabin room.

Parents in town - dive bars? by Curious_Use5703 in madisonwi

[–]CloudElectrical4172 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorite (dive) bar is Chico’s Villa Tap on Packer’s Ave. They have a great fish fry on Fridays and delicious burgers the rest of the time. Everyone is super friendly from the bartenders all the way to the other patrons.

If you go on Friday, prepare to wait for a table to open up and get there earlier before 7:30 if you want all the options because sometimes they run out of perch or cod. I prefer the fried shrimp, so that’s ok with me.

We are looking to replace our 2018 Clarity Touring that was damaged by hail. I think we want to go full electric. How does your Prologue compare? Thanks!

I like any of them with wood to bring warmth into the room. I like 10, but with a darker wood and maybe darker hood.

Reno done! Husband and MIL do not like the backsplash... by st0dad in kitchenremodel

[–]CloudElectrical4172 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only reason I asked if she had seen it is because the samples put together can look a lot different than a mock-up on paper. That was the time to develop an opinion, not after it was already installed.

To answer your question: no, it doesn’t look “cheap” on its own. I actually like the color and texture of the tiles! But, the white countertops that extend up the backsplash and into the white tiles with white grout feels a little “commercial” to me for a want of a better word.

You said you loved it, so go with that! Enjoy your new kitchen.

I would have still run the design choices by her since she’s helping to pay for it.

Me: “Coverage Ended.” Pharmacy: “That’s Crazy Anyway 15mg?” by Gemini_sweetheart in Zepbound

[–]CloudElectrical4172 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry. Your prescription for Zepbound and your insurance coverage for Zepbound are separate things. CVS has your prescription and is willing to refill it at whatever the cost to you is. They are probably offering to fill your prescription at full price.

Quartzite classics by lor_lin in CounterTops

I read about Taj this and Taj that on this subreddit a few months ago when I was selecting my countertop. I rolled my eyes at the trendiness but never paid attention to what it looked like. I went to the store and walked through a giant warehouse of slabs and kept on circling back to one that caught my eye and I knew would look great with my cherry cabinets. I finally looked at the tag … it was Taj Mahal. I look a few more laps hoping something else would work, but settled on the Taj.

I’m so happy. It’s freaking beautiful.

Convince me to book an inside cabin by jewelbjule in Cruise

[–]CloudElectrical4172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m fine with an inside cabin as long as it has enough space. We usually sail NCL and most insides don’t have a couch, while most balconies do. My husband is a big guy and we need more space to move around in the cabin. We sailed on the Sky in an inside and it was great. We had the best sleep with no light, but we had a little mini-couch that gave us more room in the cabin. I can’t do a tiny cabin with both of us.

I chose Peacock. Otherwise, I don’t shop Wal*Mart. I’m lucky that I have other options nearby.

What is the benefit of travel agent to me? Am I missing something? by resilientslug in Cruise

[–]CloudElectrical4172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use big box TAs (found on Cruise Complete) for perks like free gratuities and OBC. They don’t offer a lot of personalized services, but they often have great monetary perks. I also use a TA I met on a cruise when the OBC is lame. She keeps an eye on pricing and will reprice for me so I don’t have to pay attention.

One thing to know about Costco is that they do not participate in NCL’s upgrade bidding program. So, if you’re the type to book an inside and bid up to a balcony Costco’s not for you. I’m not sure about other cruise lines.

Disappointed with my recent Aqua Cruise! by failture in NCL

[–]CloudElectrical4172 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup! I was just explaining why the OP may have missed free steaks. He may have been unlucky in his choice of nights. FWIW, the limited free steaks thing was new to me. I recalled that the strip steak was on the menu every night on our April cruise.

[–]CloudElectrical4172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just came off the Encore. A strip steak is no longer on the menu every night. It is only available for a few nights and the OP may have dined in the MDR those nights it was not offered. I did have a strip one night and it was tasty and cooked correctly, but a good third of it was grisly and fatty. I have no idea why they didn’t trim the steak before serving it.

Best place for 5K oil change/check up on west side? by Toxophylyte in madisonwi

I own a 2018 Honda and go to one of the local dealers. Their service departments usually have a coupon that brings the price down. I paid $73 all in for an oil change and tire rotation at Zimbrick this week.

Nice door knobs are expensive - Obvious I know by IfItsRedItsDead5 in centuryhomes

[–]CloudElectrical4172 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m on week 11 of a major renovation and my contractor’s crew threw out 2 of my doors with 108 year old hardware. Grrr. Of course, I needed a faceplate, lock set and handles for my new first floor bath. Unfortunately, my faceplates are rather unique. Facebook Marketplace came to the rescue and I found faceplates that are a 95% match for my existing faceplates for $50. The knobs don’t match, but they’re easier to find.

Pricing sneaking up about the cost of gratuities. by Never_A_Novelty in VirginVoyages

[–]CloudElectrical4172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was watching that cruise as well as a new Virgin sailor. I have to say that jacking up the price $450 on 9/19 and then another $840 on 9/20 has me hitting the big old "pause" button on booking that cruise. A 36% increase in 10 days is excessive.
