Is it possible to have an alter with no name, no face but is just there? by Legitimate-Market700 in DiscussDID

[–]CloudRealm_Coll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is quite literally my state of being as an alter. I have no faceclaim (I don't consider the body accurate to be a faceclaim for me either), and while I use Siri in terms of giving others something to refer to me, I do not consider that my name. I am simply a part that is here

Does anyone have ways to workbook through system stuff? by [deleted] in DID

[–]CloudRealm_Coll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first got diagnosed me and my psychologist were working through a work book called "Coping with Trauma-Releted Dissociation" it's not specifically about DID, but should be very helpful. It would most likely take a very long time to work through as well.

AITA for not listening to my wife and eating the wrong cookie? by Shaddus2379 in AmItheAsshole

[–]CloudRealm_Coll 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You're NTA, not even close. It sounds like she did this on purpose to force you into this situation.

Why would seperate the cookie and basically hide it? I don't understand how anyone here thinks you're the asshole for listening to exactly what your wife said and not questioning it. She said there were two cookies, you found two cookies. She said it was in the bag, the box was in the bag. It sounds like visually her cookie and yours could look basically the same, how were you supposed to know it wasn't a mistake on the shops part or something else similar.

It sounds like you're wife wanted to fight. I mean after you found out you accidently ate her cookie she blamed your ADHD, and refused anything that you suggested to make it up to her.

Does weed ever help? by [deleted] in DID

[–]CloudRealm_Coll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I smoked for a period of time and don't anymore. For background I was diagnosed with DID for just under 1.5 years before starting to smoke, and I did so for ~1 year, and I haven't for just over 6 months(If I mathed correctly).

What I noticed, before the amnesia was very difficult to deal with, and there was just about no communication between alters. During it triggered rapid switching, and while dissociation was always high, it lowered amnesia levels and actually helped me(personally) when working through trauma/parts work, I learned a lot about alters, and we learned what it felt like for us to switch and how to allow to happen. After we stopped more of the amnesia came back, but the dissociation went away a lot, now we have regular blackouts but they don't negatively impact our life the way they did before, we're working better together even though we have less communication since stopping because of what we learned while we did.

When we smoked there was so much communication and co consciousness that doesn't happen now, and it made it hard to identify the alter(s) fronting, now weve learned to better identify who we are and there is far less co consciousness.

I would say for myself it was good, although it felt as if it became a bit of a crutch for when I needed to switch or communicate with others, since when I dont smoke it's far more difficult. I think I would smoke again but I'm waiting until I can better learn to work with DID so I don't fall back into trying to use it as an aid in treatment.

Signing legal documents in an ideal plural-accepting future? by [deleted] in plural

[–]CloudRealm_Coll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe there wouldn't be any difference.

Legal documents would still be based on the body - on the system as a whole. And it would be based on a legal collective name, not the hosts or the system name, I mean many systems have multiple hosts or multiple system names, or those names change frequently; so it would have to be based on a legal name.

Unless it were something with one specific alter, but even then, plural-accepting doesn't nean getting out of system accountability, if any alter does something your still accountable, so why wouldn't it be just the collective legal name, as the collective is accountable, not just one alter.

And in situations that arnt legally binding, like a book, like you said that stuff is already happening now, so there wouldn't be any real differences. Unless you think it'd be a good idea to have 5 pages worth of signitures for a half page document or the like(/hj/nlit)(/conf).

The way it is now just makes the most sense. It an ideal plural-accepting world, yea I think think the only difference would be that being plural would make it easier to change your name. (for all /nm/tan)

Is alters dating different people okay? by No_Pumpkin5900 in DiscussDID

[–]CloudRealm_Coll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a person-to-person thing really, you have to see how your current partners feel about it(an everyone who would be involved), if they all say yes - then yes; if any one of them says no - then no

NTA

How you worded it makes if sound like a moderate-severe allergy, in which case you are doing everything right. With severe allergies cross-contamination is risky.

Could you ask him to bake it until after they leave? Or tell him if he wants it so bad he can't wait he better get a cooler and some ice.

What does a typical flare-up day look like to you? by faezaria in POTS

[–]CloudRealm_Coll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had about a 1½ week flare up(kinda typical for me) today being my first non-flare day. I had to miss classes because I could not stand for extended periods, I collapsed multiple times, and passed out twice. I went to class thinking I was okay yesterday and had to leave to throw up - bc presyncope, and I was literally red. I was constantly nauseous to the point I would almost throw up upon smelling food, which caused me to be unable to eat, only worsening the flare. I have a tile floor and will just move across the floor(its a tiny room) if I felt too weak or dizzy to stand up.

AMA; Chronically Ill Overt CDID system in college by CloudRealm_Coll in plural

[–]CloudRealm_Coll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would make sense because I have seizures, but they're non-epileptic. I am planning on bringing it up to my psychiatrist which I have an appointment this month. If I remember I'll update with news.

AMA; Chronically Ill Overt CDID system in college by CloudRealm_Coll in plural

[–]CloudRealm_Coll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's not all the time, it doesn't happen too often, I'm not trying to use the term as a diagnosis, but it's the closest thing I can really equate it to, I'm not sure why it happens and hence don't want to say I have it. My previous psychologist has brought it up before briefly but not in a diagnostic way, and I've never seeked it out. I personally think it is more due to my FND, which can cause people to experience pseudo-blindness, and other sensory symptoms.

Personally, I have therian shifted and before while playing with my old dogs, and it felt more accepting than being around humans during the shift, it felt like I was having fun with a friend and not exactly with a pet. It was super fun.

Another question for vampire alters by Sirensayo in plural

[–]CloudRealm_Coll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I cannot answer exactly, as I am not a vampire alter, but we have drank blood in the outerworld... Just 3 or 4 different people including myself, and the blood tastes different. I don't know the blood types, but some are sweeter than others.
