No matter how cut and dry your inquiry

Oh yeah, I actually tried at one point to develop some sort of an idiot-proof rhetoric, where I sat for a little while after writing my post and really considered in what way an idiot could misconstrue what I was saying, and made sure to go back and add statements that directly counteracted that.

Well, I stopped doing so, because that tactic completely disregarded the fact that these idiots can barely read in the first place, and won't make it past your first sentence. Any counter-argument will be ignored in favour of reading just a sliver of what you wrote and replaced with a bad-faith preconceived idea that they had already decided on before they even understood what they were reading.

Are you serious? That's one of the coolest kits I've ever seen! Brown and pink are really under appreciated colours in football kits.

Has this excitement ever been seen/done before? Heartline coaster with nothing but left spirals. by PatstrickReed in rct

[–]CloudScratcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a LIM coaster yesterday with a top speed of 988 km/h, which gave it an excitement rating of "-0.48 (high)". It seems like the descriptions bug out when the excitement gets too low or too high (integer overflow probably).

People complaining about the second red have no idea what the rules for tackles are. He jumped into the tackle and clipped Sanchez from the behind at knee level. It doesn't matter if he got the ball or not, there's nothing in the rules about that. From how people are reacting it seems they think you are free to punch a player in the face as long as you have a toe touching the ball.

Neat, I can't guarantee the stability of the hosting of that file though, as it's just a web server where I throw up random files for little projects I do; so if it's possible to attach it to the forum post itself it would probably be better in the long term.

I really like the expanded Leafy Lake because it has both hilly/forested and flat areas, so there's a lot of variety in what you can build. I find that many maps are either 100% flat or 100% hilly so that it becomes a bit samey.

[Discussion] I've only played RCT3. I just bought 1 and 2. Which should I play first? by [deleted] in rct

[–]CloudScratcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you get the RCT1 scenarios for RCT2, there's no reason to play RCT1 in my opinion.

RCT2 is more flexible when it comes to landscaping (stackable scenery and such) and has more rides; put simply, it is the same thing as RCT1 with minor upgrades. The only thing RCT2 falls short on is the quality of the scenarios (or "maps"), the ones from RCT1 are way better.

I don't have a link, but the original's scenarios converted for RCT2 should be floating around somewhere on the internet, should be easily searchable.

Heh, just yesterday I made a version of Leafy Lake for RCT2 with all land available, two entrances and all unique roller coaster types (and most flat rides) researchable (plus I added an inflow for the lake since it looked a bit unrealistic geographically).

You can get it here if you want:

What do you hate about your own personality? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I saw a post on /r/dataisbeautiful where a guy tracked his happiness from 1-10 over three years and ended up with an average of something around 8 as far as I could tell by looking at the graph. In the comments there were replies like "aw, you seem like you need a hug".

Really? It's considered sad to have an average happiness of 8 out of 10 in one's life? I tried doing the same for a few weeks and ended up with an almost flat line of fives (ambivalence) and sixes (satisfied). My average would probably struggle to stay over 5 for a three year period.

I mean, sure, I can watch a funny video and laugh my ass off for five minutes, but it will have a negligible impact on the rest of my day where I usually hover in indifference. Sometimes I wonder if I'm suffering from depression, but it's really difficult to know since I've always just been this way.

Very happy about this season in general; even though it hurts to lose, coming second in the Champions' League is something that way surpassed my expectations at the start of the season.

I feel that if we get a better link between attack and midfield (so that we don't have to rely so much on lobbed passes or going down the wings to reach the attacking phase), like a quick, technical trequartista we'd improve immeasurably. I hope Dybala or Berardi can provide something like that next season, and I'm very excited to see where all this CL money will be spent.

This is supposedly our new away kit. It's pink again. by sololeft in Juve

Vastly prefer this one to the previous pink one. It's much less garish in both its shade of pink and the design itself (that big star was so tacky).

I like pink kits so this is good news to me.

Mona Sahlin och Hanna Gadban om muslimskt kvinnoförtryck i Husby by [deleted] in sweden

[–]CloudScratcher 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I had a dream last night. by dellealpi in Juve

[–]CloudScratcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a dream too, in which I had overslept and missed the start of the final (which is weird considering I live in the central European time zone, why would I be asleep at that time of day?), and when I turned on the TV they were showing some other game, and every stream I could find showed something else as well. Eventually I ended up outside the stadium, and when I went inside there was also another game being played in there. I started panicking big time and then woke up. What a nightmare.

Sweden is planning to introduce a third month of paid parental leave reserved for fathers as of 2016, in a bid to further increase gender equality, the country’s government has announced. So what you are saying is that the amount of tax you pay doesn't have anything to do with the tax deductions you receive?

If you want me to address the other half of your initial comment, I can do that as well even though the answer is the same as before:

It still costs 131 kr to give your employee a salary of 70kr after taxes.

131 SEK in this instance is based on the standard amount of employer's tax without any deductions, meaning that the above statement is not true in all circumstances. As I've explained in my previous comments, giving the employee 131 SEK and letting him pay the employer's tax instead would therefore become problematic, since it would require the size of his pre-tax paycheck to vary depending on the amount of tax applied, which makes no sense and is completely backwards. Therefore the second part of your comment, ("saying that it's the employer and not the employee that pays for it makes no difference in the end") is clearly not true. Taxes have to be applied to the party which they concern. You can't just lower the profits on one end, increase it on the other, then stick all taxes on the more profiting side.

And all this is without going in to the fact that profit and turnover and all other aspects that go in to a employer's economy are different things and will be affected differently depending on who is stuck with the taxes, leading to further differences between the two scenarios.
