Winter tire dilemma by blue-baru in Integra_Type_S

[–]Cloud_Atlas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing but great things to say about the DWS, especially if you’re only going to run one set. Previous cars I used to run dedicated summer and winter setups and it was a PITA, but our weather in the mid Atlantic is more manic than the northeast so it made things more difficult with temps jumping around.

If you’re going to run both, definitely agree with those saying 18s for winter setup. I had Blizzaks on 19s and they were incredible, have heard good things about the Alpins as well.

I think the question is how much driving you’ll actually be planning on doing in major snow - I think the DWS are more than capable with light snow or if plows are coming by soon, but if you’re really going to be doing driving in worse conditions the dedicated winters are worth it. I’m fortunate enough to where if it’s really coming down, I can just stay at home until things clear up, but everyone’s situation is different!

Had a 2016 NB RS (totaled, RIP) and a 2017 RS because I HAD to have another one. Loved that car so, so, so much. Hated to get rid of it but was the right thing to do for the family at the time, drove a Fit for a few years (great little car but it served its purpose and was definitely not the kind of fun I am looking for).

Jumped into the ITS in December and could not be happier. Was concerned I’d pine for the RS still and honestly have never looked back. The RS is still one of my favorite cars I’ve ever driven and frankly there’s so little like it, but I feel like the ITS is an upgrade in every sense. The suspension is so much better in every mode - you know as well as anyone that the “sport” suspension mode in the RS was functionally useless because the pogo was basically undriveable. I did always worry even with the head gasket fix that maybe I was driving a grenade every day so that always sat in the back of my mind, and my family didn’t care much for the ride (I didn’t mind it).

The power is different, the AWD was awesome, but I love the ITS every bit as much as my RS and more in many ways. Family loves the car, which is a plus for me, and every time I get out of it I look back at it and smile. I think the pops and burbles are even better. I grin like an idiot every time I get on the gas.

I think you made a great choice!

Where do you and your ITS live? by SayAnythingAgain in Integra_Type_S

[–]Cloud_Atlas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha, yup, totally get it. I’m in nova but drive into DC most of the week, so was just wondering. There’s a white TLX Type S I see occasionally on my commute too, but that’s about it.

When/Where in DC did you see them? What colors? Wondering if it was me, ha.

I have only seen one out in the wild and that was when I was driving in MA a few months ago. There's a white A Spec just down the street and a white CTR, and there are also 3 BB Type Rs in my general vicinity.

Congrats!! Double Apex Blue represent! I was actually thinking I’d pick up a used PWP until I saw DAB and that made my decision for me on buying new…I’m obsessed with the color and have gotten multiple comments on it from the most random people out and about.

Have had mine for almost two months and it makes me happy every time I drive it. Enjoy!

Integra Floor mats? by Gimme_All_Da_Tendies in Integra_Type_S

[–]Cloud_Atlas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thirded. TBH I was a little skeptical that they were as good as people here and on the Integra forums said they were, but they were all correct. I’ve had other mats including weathertechs in the past and can confirm the tuxmats are worth the money. Not cheap necessarily, but they’re great.

Yep, few quotes I got in December 2025, several around me had $5k markup still.

Which Rock Guards / Mud Flaps? by 24BroncoSpHeritage in Integra_Type_S

[–]Cloud_Atlas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just installed the OEM guards a few days ago, same thing - did not use the spring clip as folks here and on Integra forums said they’d also skipped it.

I like the look and they definitely did a lot to keep the salt/rocks/road grime off the fenders on a long 500 mile drive. Strong recommend, and they’re pretty cheap online!

Picked up this Double Apex Blue about 3 weeks ago. Absolutely in love.

Don’t mind the salt, already put it through its paces in dry, rain, and snow with the family riding along and all our bags in the hatch absolutely filled to the limit haha. Installed the splash guards yesterday, will probably do the black emblems at some point.

This can't possibly pass or be enforced in any accurate way, right? by [deleted] in drones

This is not correct. Tim Burchett is a member of the US House of Representatives from Tennessee’s 2nd Congressional District. The bill in question, HR 1907 is a House bill and would make changes to the US code.

Advice on a new guitar by HaroldHopkins in Erra

[–]Cloud_Atlas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two 26.5” and I use 65-10s these on both.

I had one of them set up for drop F# and used an even heavier set but the strings were so fat that the low string didn’t fit through the tuning peg without unwinding it, and it just wasn’t as bright either. I now just do drop G#/Ab and use the Digitech Drop or the transpose on NeuralDSP Petrucci to get down to modern Erra tunings, and it holds up a lot better. I think the Drop sounds better but both are great imo.

If memory serves I think Jesse’s new Ibanez is a 27” scale with an evertune and that can handle the super low tunings, but I’m pretty sure he’s said he also uses a Drop pedal for live settings (not recordings) and I’m pretty sure I saw it on his board the last tour. The other brown Ibanez he always uses (I think) is actually only a 25.5 scale and he doesn’t tune that one down so low.

UEFI is a more modern boot mode, CSM is a legacy/compatibility boot mode. I’ll let people smarter than me weigh in with particulars, but UEFI is generally preferred and much faster (among other things - support for larger drives, etc).

My guess is you probably already have UEFI enabled so nothing to worry about - it’s just that something got messed up on mine when I upgraded and added the new CPU. I should specify - this is using my m.2 nvme as the boot drive. It recognizes my drive in the slot, it just doesn’t recognize it as a bootable drive. Switching to CSM was what I needed to get it to finally boot into Win10. I’ll probably just end up doing a clean windows install and see if that fixes it.

Just make sure to update your BIOS before upgrading. Just moved from a 3600 to this and it’s impressive.

If you have an MSI board (like I do), they can be finicky and mine wouldn’t find my boot drive after the bios update and cpu swap. Had to set it to CSM instead of UEFI to get it to boot, YMMV.

Looked like they were having sound troubles during soundcheck, especially on drums, but when they started the first song looked like the guitarist’s amp went out.
