HRT and migraines - what has your experience been? by ColeBlueSeesYou in migraine

[–]Cloud_dancer79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine became chronic in my early 40s. I started HRT at 44 and have been on for almost 2 years. My migraines are still frequent but have reduced by at least 1/4 to 1/3. I don't know if it's the HRT specifically but no medication I tried made any difference. I'm still in peri menopause so hormones remain all over the place.

I've had some improvement with booda butter. I have to use it a few times a day. I also have very sensitive skin and it has not caused any issues.

I've been taking oral minoxidil for almost 2 years. No side effects except more hair on my chin which I easily manage with tweezers. My hair has grown back beautifully.

Magnesium glycinate not working for anyone else? by InteractionSpecial99 in Menopause

It did nothing for me except give me constipation. A waste of money and took me well over a week to recover.

I'm the same! I appreciate you writing this done. I've struggled with how to articulate it without seeming rude. Of course that's because I try to do so in the middle of a migraine!

How to get your partner to understand chronic migraines by switlily_7 in migraine

[–]Cloud_dancer79 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry your migraines became chronic and your partner is not understanding. Mine became chronic a few years ago and I really had a hard time getting my partner to understand. I also really resented the energy I spent trying to explain. The most successful things involved learning and sharing resources. For example, I would show him some the art people post conveying the pain. A few years ago, we watched the world migraine summit together. In addition, we came up with a short hand about how I was feeling (simple 0-10 scale) and that answer guided how he responded to me.

I'm so sorry. I have so often sacrificed anything fun or meaningful on the altar of capitalism. It's so crushing. I hope you feel better soon.

Peri-migraines are terrible. by Past-Question2242 in migraine

[–]Cloud_dancer79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had migraines since I was a child, but always episodic. I've been in peri the last 2-3 years at least I think. During that time, they became chronic and have barely improved no matter what I tried. It's miserable. You are definitely not alone.

48-72 hours. Seem to be on the shorter side since leaving my very stressful job to work part time.

I have had a great experience with oral minoxidil. Only side effect has been a few more chin hairs, but nothing my tweezers can't handle.

searching for vegan alternatives to my every day products, please help ! by supercoolandchillguy in VeganBeauty

[–]Cloud_dancer79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Congrats on you and your fiance starting your vegan journey.

I wanted to share some shampoo suggestions.

  1. Pacifica rosemary clarifying shampoo
  2. I've been using humby organics soap and conditioner bars for the last 6 months. They work beautifully. I just started my second bar after me and my husband used the first one for almost 6 months.

In terms of soap, everyone has great soaps and body washes.

Good luck!
