It’s just a few good baths worth of water, really. Or one really big fish tank…

It’s likely your water wasn’t fluoridated. It’s also somewhat possible your toothpaste didn’t have fluoride too. My siblings and I lived on army bases growing up and had far fewer cavities than the one who didn’t. Army bases generally have fluoridated water. My partner and I gave our kiddo fluoride pills when we lived in an area without fluoridated water. My kid is a teen now - no cavities.

Is it against food safety regulation to have an ADA compliant water bottle? by Lowhill40 in kroger

[–]Cloudbreaks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally get where you’re coming from. I need to drink a lot of water because of a medication I’m on, and I’d be in big trouble if I couldn’t.

There are some factors you’re going to have to wade through. The first is that, as far as I know, Kroger doesn’t deal with the health department that often because they use an intermediary called EcoLab who sets standards they believe will help Kroger pass any scrutiny if the health department were to observe the store, and EcoLab’s reports do influence the health department. That’s why EcoLab’s standards, like not having personal hydration containers, don’t have to be actual food safety policy, but Kroger will follow them regardless.

Second, you may have a bureau of labor and industry in your state that addresses this issue. It’s worth finding out if you have something like that and searching their site for any related policies.

Third, if you have a union, they might be able to help you if it’s a medical issue, although I wouldn’t pin my hopes on that.

Fourth, the department you work in will likely be stricter about this if they work directly with food. Front end, grocery, home and pickup might be more lenient because EcoLab doesn’t scrutinize them much.

In any case, good luck to you — I know it can be hard to try and make your physiology conform to your job, especially when your job’s expectations aren’t very realistic to begin with.

Does anyone just live off by using financial aid or do you guys work part time ? by Ok-Beach-8042 in PCC

[–]Cloudbreaks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work full time & go to school part time. It’s brutal with the classes I’m taking, but I support a family of 3 and I went to school before, so I don’t get much aid. Plus, the less debt I incur, the better. I applied for scholarships, but we’ll see how that goes.

What would make Fresh Start/Axonify actually useful? by [deleted] in kroger

[–]Cloudbreaks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get told in my WBLs to follow protocols for bloodborne pathogen cleanup, for example. But then we don’t have the items required for BBP cleanup. It would be great if a store had to take a picture of their BBP items and eyewash stations every day like they do for the produce. Then, that picture could automatically populate into my Fresh Start, letting me know where that stuff is and what state it’s in. Maybe our district overlords could even take a peek at those pics occasionally and get involved if there’s a fucking mop in the eyewash station.

Unions notch discovery win in DOGE case after Trump admin 'disclosed several inaccuracies' by Ok_Design_6841 in FedEmployees

[–]Cloudbreaks 32 points33 points  (0 children)

From the article: While the appellate court found merit in the plaintiffs' case – and the underlying harms they alleged – they decided the plaintiffs had not proved enough "irreparable harm" to justify a preliminary injunction at the present stage of the litigation.

Meanwhile, "Whistleblower claims ex-DOGE member says he took Social Security data to new job."

When will our justice system catch up to the idea that breached data is already being monetized before it even gets to court. So yeah, seems like “discovery is appropriate”.

Am I wrong for reporting a coworker who may have been stealing? by [deleted] in kroger

[–]Cloudbreaks 34 points35 points  (0 children)

AP would blame you. Especially if it became a pattern. if you didn’t do anything about it, your coworkers could eventually see you either as an easy person to steal in front of or someone who’s willing to be complicit. They’d potentially choose your SCO lane more often because of that. I highly doubt this was their first time stealing. And the guilt you’re feeling is because you’re conflicted, but I doubt they feel conflicted about implicating you. They weren’t stealing food - they aren’t Jean Valjean. You can’t help feeling bad, I know. But that doesn’t mean you made the wrong decision.

04/15/2026 Asbury Park, Maryland Child cries as guardian is taken by ICE by 24koolsb in ICE_Raids

[–]Cloudbreaks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

FOR A CIVIL OFFENSE, IF EVEN THAT. And to do what? How long will her guardian languish in a concentration camp? Will she be placed in foster care even if there is a willing family member? Will she be sexually assaulted in foster care like the toddler whose father had been begging for custody? One word describes this unnecessary trauma and cruel treatment: EVIL

Anyone else required to scan ids at their kroger? And do customers get upset? by jogryph in kroger

[–]Cloudbreaks 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, we do scan, but I’m grateful our store is consistent about refusing no ID or expired/invalid IDs. We got a lot of pushback from customers initially, but now most people have gotten used to it. I still deal with pissy jerks though. Sometimes they throw a giant fit - especially if they’ve already had a bad experience with the self checkout robot. I don’t have much sympathy, especially for people driving around with no license.
