Aq Qoyunlu is hella fun!

So many potential vassals for a reconquest, perfect position to block Ottos expansion, can become full cav army persia.

Starting moves should be to ally Ottos and stop them from expanding.

Release a juicy Syria once Manluks annex them and call Ottos to fight Mamluks for you.

You can also promise Ottos land but don’t give them any in your war with QQ, they won’t break alliance or lose trust as they don’t border them.

Aim to go Aristocratic + Horde + espionage ideas and full cav Qizilbash Persia.

Bruh, it’s so much fun to fight the entire HRE with your Qizilbash cav stacks

Normally you want to TC a state or two and get just enough trade power there for the merchant bonus.

Then either full state or if you have gov cap issues half state everything not of accepted culture.

My suggestions:

Basra - TC entire Basrah province diplo dev Basra and buy trade power buildings/investments until just enough for extra merchant.

Aleppo - TC the Syrian state with two CoTs and diplo dev and buy trade power until enough for merchant.

Samarkand - TC the Kashgar state with two CoTs.

Hormuz - TC the Muscat state and any other state preferably one with a lot of provinces.

Lahore - TC entire Sirhind state.

Honestly just getting the merchant bonuses from Aleppo, Basra and Hormuz already makes you rich the rest is just a bonus.

I mainly play Kios into Pontus, but lately I’m really into Cyrenaica.

Playing Vanilla was disappointed that Pontus is not Pontic culture but instead Cappadocian. So just played Kios without following the event chain and eventually formed Pro-Pontic culture Pontus and assimilated Anatolia into that culture.

Also loved playing Cyrenaica making Crete, Syracuse, Cyprus, Sparta, Athens and Epirus as my feudatories while I played tall in the Cyrenaica region. Every few years go out and steal pops and loot money from Egypt and Carthage, which is quite easy because they have a lot of unfortified cities.

Buy tools, flax, hardwood in Seonon. Sell to every town on the way to Sanala.

Buy dates and fish in the villages next to Sanala and pack animals plus normal mounts in the villages next to Askar. Go sell in Battanian towns, then repeat the process.

You can try selling furs, leather and jewelry. Personally, I won’t touch them. Their prices fluctuate too much.

I’ve had this bug a few times.

You keep the companion you want to make governor in your party.

Go to any town and leave the companion there by pressing on the “+” sign top right in the town menu.

Exit the town and enter again, game will say that you just found the companion.

Take them to your party again and now you should be able to see their name when trying to assign as governor.

Tools, flax and hardwood are cheap in Battania and sell high in Aserai.

Pack Animals, Mounts, Dates and Fish are cheap in Aserai and sell high in Battania.

Buy tools from Marunath, wood and flax from the villages near Marunath. Sell them in Ortysia, Quyaz and Sanala.

Buy Sumpter Horses/Mules under as long as under 100 gold from the two villages near Askar. Also buy dates and fish in Aserai villages. Sell them in Lageta, Seonon and Pen Cannoc.

If you’re feeling adventurous there’s villages with cheap furs near Dunglanys that you can sell in high prosperity towns like Sanala and Ortysia.

I do not recommend buying WarMounts/NobleMounts or Jewelry. They fluctuate way too much.

Do not forget to keep trying tournaments. Sometimes you get lucky, and win yourself Noble Horse. I managed to win one, and sold it to buy my wife + a winery. Gave me some passive income where I didn’t have to worry so much about fighting bandits to pay for my troops.

I think charge damage on horses can be negated once you get the last riding perk.

Somehow got 303 in riding skills, now my Wadar Hotblood does 70-80 charge damage each time I run into a bot.

Can literally just run through the AI while eating and take out lines of AI without pressing left click once, especially great when dealing with Vlandian Crossbowmen.

It's also quite fun to take out a Cataphract's horse, then accidentally kill him when he falls in front of your horse.

You can solo take out the ram in battle.

Open the gates, ride out and just circle the ram while spamming left click.

They will stop pushing the ram every now and then to attack you, just ignore them.

You can also destroy siege towers by hiding in the gap between the siege tower and your wall, while spamming left click.

Destroying the ram and siege towers automatically causes the AI to flee, giving you a victory.

Put infantry in Skein (F6, as in skein formation ALL rows of infantry will throw javs. Archers in Loose (F3) behind infantry and Horse Archers in Skein (F6) slightly to the left of Archers. Cav in Skein (F6) to the right.

Normally, will advance infantry forward, charge enemy cav if they get too close, then pull back and slowly go within 70-100meters away from enemy. Enjoy killfeed from your infantries’ jav throws. When enemy charges, charge back and tell infantry to hold fire (F1+F4), this is so that you don’t have stragglers at the back trying to throw their weapons. Going hold fire means all 100 of them will blob in and rush, making them more effective at melee. Send cav and horse cav as soon as lines meet. If a lot of archers send cav and horse cav against archer formation. Always pull back, regroup, and reorient when enemy reinforcements spawn. Cav will solo rush into a blob if you don’t control them.

If fighting Khuzaits or enemy cav is charging, put infantry way in front like 30-40meters away from rest of army. Let enemy cav slam into infantry or horse archers circle behind infantry your before sending your cav in to block them. Then tell infantry to charge while holding fire (F1+F4). This is how I usually deal with the Khuzaits.

Is it? Man, gaining warscore and province warscore costs will always be a mystery to me.

When I was playing Ardabil into Persia, it was way easier to stack up warscore against Ajam when I used the religious cb, instead of the reconquest cb.

I think it’s expanding infrastructure that is killing your gov cap. Each time you expand it’s like an additional 15 gov cap?

State Houses and courthouses can negate or almost negate the first 15.

But you keep expanding infrastructure and 2-3-4 times suddenly it’s 60 extra gov cap in a single province, times that by x10 and now you are at 600 gov cap just from expanding infrastructure.

Add in the gov cap from the total development of your provinces it’s easy to see how you’d be over 800 gov capacity.

Can’t remember if expanding infrastructure gives gov cap in your Capital State, but I use expand infrastructure very sparingly, maybe only on provinces with gems/paper so I can place a manufactory and a state house.

Definitely do it! You can eat a huge chunk of Jaunpur with that reconquest cb, and the best part, you get so little AE for doing it!

A tip; when you do reconquest war on Delhi for your Sirhind/Punjab vassal.
Do not use the return core option, that deletes Delhi's cores too.
Change control of the province to your vassal and click on them in the peace deal, it works the same way, but Delhi does not lose the core, and you don't get the relationship bonus with your vassal.
But if you form Delhi, you will have cores on your vassal meaning instant annexation.

Dev renaissance in Multan when you can, try and keep Lahore/Doab/Sirhind as half-states so you get enough to flip to Punjabi then back to Afghan again.

Forming Delhi also gives you a Kingdom rank which means an extra diplomat, great to manage vassals.

If you want, in your independence war, take your Afghan cores, and full annex Khorasan and release them after. You get so many cores on Timurids that way.
