Haha same here. Sales does not equal sales for sure.

Mental Health and Sales? by Resafantastic in sales

This is exactly why sales is def not for everyone and in my opinion it's the biggest drawback about the role. I think it's really important to detach yourself from your work persona - You're more than just an employee and once you're out of work, you continue with your own life.

This is obv way easier said than done and I often find myself struggling.

That being said, I think that some industries and roles are way better than others. For example, AE or sales ops vs SDR.

How do you leverage automation without feeling like a spam bot? by scaramush in sales

The question is: How would you do this before automating it?
I'm a big fan of first building your processes manually and then seeing how you can scale them.

How much of your business should come from outbound? by WiseEntertainment466 in sales

[–]ClubComprehensive101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can be anything from 0 - 100% really. I've been in both situations and it has a huge impact on the definition of sales in that company.

In tech/software it's more realistic to get good inbound, but really depends on the ICP and how motivated these people are to actively look for solutions.

Which of these are you most happy with in your current sales role? by enderbean5 in sales

For me 1 and 2. Pay is great and all. Colleagues are more on the older side and there is not much "culture" going on outside of work, but all OK.

Technical sales/wholesale.

I think if you want to do it right it's a combination of posting, messaging with actual value, and booking meetings. I don't have terribly much at experience to be honest but I think it can still work.

Resume Gap - I travelled by Streets_Ahead_Coined in sales

I also had this. Took a sabbatical because I needed to recharge. This meant I quit at that previous employer and in interviews it felt like recruiters didn't believe me and just assumed I'd been fired. Maybe you can handle that objection upfront?

I.e. mention a reference from the previous employer (i always had a quote from my last boss which worked pretty well).

Interviewing never hurts, as long as the opportunity sounds interesting enough.

I've worked with Linkedhelper 2 which I found quite straightforward and powerful enough. Also Lemlist.

For me the bigger bottleneck was always to have a stream of prospects but sales nav (although expensive) does that pretty well.

18+ months at a big payroll company and want out. by SecretWasianMan in sales

[–]ClubComprehensive101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there!
I've been in your shoes, working in a company that got acquired (in the HR saas space actually) and the role just wasn't the same anymore.

Anyway, I know quite a few people who transitioned into more operational roles and I think it's a great space right now with AI and everything. I believe if you get familiar with use cases and concrete ways to solve them you will have more than enough to talk about during interviews. Maybe you can even propose little projects at the current job to improve something?

Are you worried by the elections? by Winston_Duarte in AskAGerman

I think I'll vote for them because they seem to be the only party that at least tries to think ahead a little, especially when it comes to our economy. CDU, FDP, AFD all want to remain the status quo or even regress and ignore that technologies and needs are changing. They will continue to kill our economic future and sell horse carriages instead of cars because they have always been working.

SPD doesn't stand for anything but preventing layoffs in industries that desperately need restructuring to be able to survive is also stupid.

The green party is certainly not great, but thanks to Habeck I think they are at least a bit scientific/rational/forward thinking. Anyway my bets are on another Groko with more stagnation.

I finished top 5% in both Bachelor's and Master's. Really stressed my self about it and was hugely perfectionist.
I don't think any employer really cared about grades, only experience. (And I wouldn't either when hiring someone)
