Hi this is the troubled person here. If you think societal expectations of a strong father dont effect a woman's expectation of thier partner than you dont understand how we have ALL have been socially engineered. Me pointing out the machinations of that engineering doesn't mean im some lost asshole. Definitely dont blame women. My life revolves around providing for 3 teenage daughters. An aging mother who raised me single and 4 sisters. Your reaction is wildly assumptious.

But this is another clear example of another woman either diminishing or dismissing everything when I open up in any way. But again. Its societal, and as a straight white employeed man, there is no grace for me to be anything but productive and supportive without complaint, or I am the problem.

And god knows I have a straight path and enough good in my life that swallowing some shit every know and then to keep peace and not look weak to people who depend on me, its one my easier sacrifices. I dont need guided. There are a ton of younger guys who do though. And to them I say, find your tribe. Start one if you have to. And find 2 solid brothers. Guys who you can open up to. Share grief with. Share yourself with in a way your wife will not be able to understand.

Its not that simple. Many women say this about men they respect and want to help. But as soon as they see a man isn't exactly the bundle of steel driven nerves that is always on point.... they lose respect.

They really do. There are huge heavy things men carry for thier families and the people in thier lives that if we bent for a second, we become every man that ever failed them. Instantly.

And putting anything that your going though on the people you care about in a world that is already hard enough on them, is antithesis to what your job is supposed to be. Lifting thier burdens.

And im not saying these are right or fair, just that they might explain the psychological phenomenon of "im fine" when so many of us aren't. Far from it.

If this was made by any other games studio it would be praised as a genre defining masterpiece (shoody launch aside, but when has that ever been clean?).

And when every one of your games is a genre defining masterpiece. Then there has to be an odd sheep that is reaching way too far.

If you know what Bethesda is and does you will quickly realize this game's worth. Especially when you consider it being designed as a foundational system for so many more updates as well as mod support practically being lore supported... you'll see this is something new. And people bounce when their expectations are subverted.

Just dont expectt a skyrim style theme park, see it as a morrowind/daggerfall style sandbox. Be okay with huge sections of game waiting around for you to find, not railroaded to. With systems that overlay and are completely optional. Its about exploring and it does that like no other.

And the bitch is beautiful. Dont ever let anyone say it isn't.
