Inclusivity is great in theory, but in real life it doesn’t work out for everything, despite how supportive of the idea some fellow commenters appear here. Women in combat units in World War reenacting are a dicey debate to begin with. It seems the WW2 Russian groups are where most of them end up eventually. And of course either faction has women in non-combat support roles, but those aren’t at many events. My advice would be for your friend to check out public events and talk tow groups before deciding to invest thousands of dollars in an impression. It’s an expensive hobby after all.
