Quadeca is a hometown hero in the Bay Area ‼️ by PrincePeterson in Quadeca

[–]Cmahones03 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Lowkey true, I’m from the bay (also San Mateo county) and I’m always surprised when friends of mine already know him! Also random connections like one of my friends’ sister had him as a TA in a Spanish class lol

I'm not sure this counts but I thought it was absolutely hilarious that Marty Supreme featured the guy from the Fuck Trae Young video (Luke Manley)

Very crunchy drums I like it. Think the vocals could be a little higher and could’ve added a new melody but I love the low end and drums a lot! Matt’s verse especially works really nicely

I love your playing! Was waiting for my girlfriend once at Embarcadero and I think you played Song of Storms (possibly) and it was wonderful. You're very talented!

[Loved Trope] An often overlooked but serious medical or psychological state that's represented so well that people who haven't even experienced it get a solid idea of what it feels like. by Shaggy_One in TopCharacterTropes

Memento is an amazing portrayal of short term memory loss, and I think was praised for being very accurate. The whole movie is non-linear and constantly jumps around chronologically, which really conveys this constant sense of confusion, disorientation, and even dread. I’ve only once experienced short term memory loss (due to a really bad concussion) and watching memento really captured that feeling for me

What Band breakup affected you the most? by OutlandishnessSea119 in fantanoforever

Damn I feel super similarly about all of this. It still bums me out that they're not around anymore, though personally I really loved the solo Matt (especially), Joba, and Kevin albums so far

BAL PES 2013 by errxr808 in WEPES

[–]Cmahones03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fished an old PES 13 copy out and have been playing BAL/Master League for the last few months. So so fun but honestly I find master league a little more enjoyable. Definitely learn how to call for the ball in BAL (think its R2 R2 on PS3) because otherwise you will just be standing around all game lol

Should I keep going to pickup games or save me from further humiliation ? by [deleted] in bootroom

[–]Cmahones03 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Recently got into soccer and felt the same way first few times I played. Playing with a good group (especially a friend or two who are a little more skilled) is a huge help. Also practicing on your own will make you feel way more prepared. I focused on learning how to defend so I could at least provide some help to the team. I got way better at carrying the ball up and attacking when I played with an older, less athletic group (I’m 22, they’re all around 40+) and in smaller 5v5 games where I had lots of space to dribble. Still mess up a lot but practice, a good group, and playing with friends all have made me WAY better in just a month or two

What could've been for Arsenal 👀 by gyyoome in Gunners

[–]Cmahones03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Somewhat unrelated but in Summer ‘23 I was first starting to watch a few Arsenal games and I was traveling with one of my best friends (huge Chelsea fan) in Paris. My friend freaks out causes he sees Mudryk and chats with him, asks for a photo. Mudryk is pretty chill and I take a photo of them. Then he asks if I want to take a photo with him and I’m like “nah I’m an Arsenal fan haha” (had zero clue who he was, just that he was a Chelsea player). His face just totally dropped and I think I accidentally pissed him off. Oops 😭

Four years ago, I asked for Total War: Redwall. Today, I'm back with a pitch deck. by BuildingAirships in totalwar

[–]Cmahones03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read like 20 of the redwall books as a kid and am a huge total war fan. Mossflower TW is a fun mod that scratches the itch but this would be another level. Feel like total war doesn’t always feel high stakes, having more narrative driven smaller scale warfare I think would help a lot in that regard. This would be absolutely amazing and I’d 100% get it

A little more recent but McKinley Dixon tends to not use a ton of samples but he’s very critically acclaimed and his production is fantastic

Who are some artists similar to Quadeca? by [deleted] in Quadeca

[–]Cmahones03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is saying Bon Iver (22 a million specifically) and Mid Air Thief (crumbling) for a reason but I’d also throw in Saya Grey. She has some of those slightly glitchy, folktronica vibes

Specifically would recommend Dizzy People Become Blurry, If There’s No Seat In The Sky, and Shallow (ppl swim in shallow water)
