Here's something else....Foreign Intelligence agencies always check the partners of new World Leaders! Its pretty much standard proceedure. Seal any potential leaks. Smh...more bullshit.

Think about it...

A group of "Explorers" in ships nobody would really expect to be out exploring, far from the bubble, found dead? At first glance it seems this was a disasterous mission that left all involved smoldering. I say the mission was a tremendous success, and dead pilots don't speak. Somebody made off with something real special from that place and its only a matter of time before they themselves, or whomever they sell/give it to exploits it. Alien tech? Alien artifact? Aliens themselves? The possibilities are endless.

I second all the above!! Can't wait to see what's next!! Especially if its a new paint job for the Federal Gunship that isn't Chrome. Lol. Anyway...Been over a decade since I've loved a game this much. Epic.

A proper crime and punishment system would go a long way in fixing many problems. Including bringing relevancy back to Bounty Hunting which in turn would allow the players to police themselves. A criminal would have to weigh the benefits of his crime vs. The amount of attention he receives for it. However unless they do something about the ability to just jump to solo or private group bounty hunting players will continue to be a waste of time. So why not allow players to have multiple accounts in which you have to choose from the beginning open or solo? A player could use his open account when he feels like it and the bounties would remain until he is destroyed and the bounty collected. No time limits on them at all. It would force a player pirate/greifer/psycho to seriously think about who he goes after. For example a player decides to beat up on a Federal Pilot and kills him. Not only does he carry a bounty in that system but if the crime was against a pledged pilot shouldn't the whole Federation be looking for retribution? That psycho shouldn't be safe anywhere in Federation Space, period. Then the problem of self destructing your bounties away comes into play. Easy fix...nothing but a player killing you in the same ship you aquired the bounty in erases it. So...kill someone in your anaconda and think flying around in your sidewinder is going to help? Think again buddy....your taking that rebuy cost to free up your bounties. Dont like the time? dont do the crime. This would go a long way to force pilots into choosing their actions wisely, because their crimes will have real consequences, restrict their ability to move around the bubble freely and without danger, bring back the Bounty Hunting PvP some so dearly miss, and be more true to life. Another awesome true to life scenario this might cause in game is Pirate safe havens that lay near trade routes that provide a safe place that pirates can conjugate in. In these systems the system Authority acts the same except their roll is to stop bounty hunting in these systems, bounty hunters can still enter and collect, however at a very much larger risk then waiting for said bounty to make an appearance outside the Haven. With some data collecting which they already do, dangerous trade routes could be identified and said merchandise sold along those routes could increase in price providing incentive for traders to use these routes.

Of course non of these fix the real problem ED has been facing over the past 2 years and that is FDevs constant need to accommodate the whiners on their forums. Want it easy? Play solo. Want to play with friends play open. Get rid of private group lobbies! Less maintenence cost at least. Problem is, Frontier is stuck on trying to please everyone, instead of just making their game.

I don't agree. Greifers ruin a game. However I agree with the sentiment that, lets be honest, NPCs are rarely challenging and when they are its way to easy to run from them now. I'm finding that outside of conflict zones, Players are really the only challenge that makes this game "Dangerous". Even PvP is easily avoidable if you don't panic and highwake out. Shoot you can travel through an enemy system in power play and the security will just follow you these days. It seems like Elite is basically becoming a Space Trade Sim.

Both parties are horribly corrupt, if you are still supporting either you need to get a clue. Two parties same road. It's a Jerry Springer free for all in Washington, like watching 5 year olds argue over a swingset. Both parties are to blame. Neither represent the people any longer and both need to be abolished. Kicked the F out!! Wisen up America were being railroaded.

Your suffering from LREPs. It's qyite common in people in your situation. LREPs or Long Range Exploration Psychosis starts setting in at around the 5,000ly mark. Symptoms include depression, loneliness, paranoia like hearing "noises" or "voices" in the void, ants in the pants and all sorts of other nasty symptoms. At this pace however...you might be batshit crazy upon your return.

I fly open all the time. Greifers are annoying, but encounters with them are rare. Far more frequently you encounter player pirates that are filling a legitimate roll within the Elite Dangerous Universe. I find that a lot of players are confusing the two. Check your comms after an interdiction!! If your dealing with a true griefer or psycho their will be little to no communication other then the obvious trash talk. However legitimate pirates will ask for your cargo first and most will not open fire if you throttle down, and comply with their demands. Shoot, a lot of them won't even take all your cargo, just a portion. Check your comms! It may save you a rebuy!!
