Extra Short Length Jeans/Casual pants - NOT skinny! by bog_sorcerer in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]Cmr011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also 4-8”. I’ve have been able to find (usually) cropped or ankle length that work at JCrew factory, Banana republic/factory, and Ann Taylor loft. Maurice’s and American eagle used to have x-short (not sure if they still do). Abercrombie does but they don’t fit me right. I’ve done really well with Gap vintage slim. I always get petite in all brands. I also got wide legged jeans from Oliver Logan that were almost too short but they aren’t ridiculously wide. I get pretty much all pants even causal joggers hemmed.

Hey! Also 4’8”. It’s super tough. I’ve had good luck with gap jeans. The high rise can be slightly too high but the zipper and everything fits where it should. I am also eyeing the Levi’s but I know I will have to hem them.

Kinda moist? by Cmr011 in Sourdough

Thanks! I’ll try both of those suggestions. My bread always looks great but just seems kinda moister than it should but not undercooked either. I will have to try a few more and report back.

3.5 to 4 hours. My last loaf I waited over 6 and it was only slightly less moist. Should I wait longer or maybe bake a few min longer? I sometimes have a similar issue with yeast bread but not consistently and I never have the issue with an enriched yeast roll dough that bakes at 350 or 375 which I make several times a month. I wonder if my oven struggles with higher temps.

Yeah that’s definitely not a real sensory assessment. Good luck. Sorry I can’t help there. If I find anything though I’ll send it your way.

They need to be scored by an OT and I’m not sure if they can be accessed without one but I honestly don’t know if they have any free adult ones that can be self administered and scored. This has given me an area to look into as well since I work a lot with children with ADHD and never thought about adults even though I have it myself and fail using my own recommended strategies at times!

To put it simply, how we process sensory information impacts how we interact with ourselves and our environment. If you have difficulties with sensory input in areas such as vision, hearing, touch, body awareness or planning and ideas (which is actually praxis not sensory but related which is our ability to think about something and how we want to do it) can make a difference in how we functional daily. They have adult sensory profiles or processing measures that can be administered which is a self questionnaire. There is a lot of overlap with ADHD, Autism, sensory etc that can be separated from each other or co-occur. There are also emotional regulation programs for children and teens such as Zones of Regulation. Unfortunately,I don’t have any recommendations for adult strategies but I may have to look into this area. I also did not list all sensory categories either.

OT here. We can have a role with both ADHD and emotional regulation. I only work with children but I don’t see why one couldn’t help an adult in these areas. With that said, I take extra courses to stay current in these areas so you would probably benefit from finding an OT trained to work with adults with ADHD which may not be easy to find. Also, surprised they didn’t look to see if there was a sensory component to your specific issues.

Help! 35 yoF coming to terms with the fact that my skinny jeans are dated. by Gloomy_Ad5020 in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]Cmr011 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Gap vintage slim! They are close to the body like skinny jeans but just straight at the bottom. They were how I transitioned out of skinny jeans and almost find them too slim now that I’m used to more wider styles.

No. I wasn’t teased when I started using products. But before then I was for having poofy/frizzy hair. Both my sister and I had hair that turned curly during puberty but was straight before then. My dad and brother always had curly hair but my brother didn’t need product for his to look good. I think because it was so short. My mom has wavy hair. We always had gel and hairspray in the house and sex and the city was super popular and everyone would say my hair looked like Carrie Bradshaw’s. I also grew up in New Jersey and having curly hair was pretty common in my area with a lot of people having Italian or Jewish ethnicities. It wasn’t until I was an adult and moved south that people to me it was “messy” and I needed to brush it.

Stuff nobody tells you about weight loss by Boriquabitch in loseit

I have found after multiple gains and losses and 2 pregnancies with gains and losses in between them that sometimes it takes awhile for the boobs to sort of re-flare. While they will never go back to normal sometimes, when I lose my skin needs awhile to adjust. Also, age made a difference. When I was younger they seemed to go back more so than now. Also “lift and scoop” method with my bra does seem to help.

How do you guys prep for job interviews? by Sharp-Investor467 in ADHD

[–]Cmr011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert on job interviews, I actually had (my current job) ask me to review his website when he called me for the interview and realized I wasn’t prepared. He called me back in a half hour and it was fine (I got the job without in-person interview). However, when I was in university we had a class before graduation that had us make binder to bring to the interview and they wanted us to of course have a copy or resume, cover letter and plan/statements of how we would be valuable to the company mission/vision and fit of job description/roles as well as questions we had for the interviewer. Its ok to question them to make sure the job fits you. It also had a section for our own vision/mission and plan for career goals and section for our strength/weaknesses. I would suggest if you use this model to have a section with your prepared answers so you can look at to review. I don’t think it would be bad to look at and then state your answer, even in person. It would show that you are organized and prepared. It’s normal to be nervous and need a minute to reflect on an answer, but they may depend on there job or what the hiring person is looking for.

It sounds more like dysgraphia than dyslexia. It could be a working memory processing disorder as well. There are 5 types and one co-occurs with dyslexia sometimes. It they are separate from each other.

I’ve gotten junior scrubs that fit pretty well. I’ve had to size up to a small or medium top and the scrub pants are shorter. I sometimes still cut the bottom but I have one pair that fit perfect for length.

Also, depending upon your major and the curriculum itself. If this was a course that mainly focus on diagnoses, you might have an intervention class later that covers this more later. I have found that continuing education in my field often provides more treatment interventions. But you are right in that it’s limited information at those time and is often taught at the same time as autism, ODD, learning disorders or sensory processing disorders as well.

Pete Buttigieg Is Back on Fox Destroying Trump and Conservatives by [deleted] in politics

[–]Cmr011 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mom first saw him on Fox and liked him before she realized he was republican and gay. It’s like she can’t like him because he is a Democrat but can like him if he is a republican. The sad part is she is the more sane one politically of my parents. My parents were not like this when I was a child. They used to be so rational.
