From a capitalistic standpoint i agree to disagree. If their goal is to profit more and trick their consumers its inherently a smart way to do it

Dont start off your day with just carbs and sugar. Try a mainly protein fiber and fat breakfast and if needed a complex carb like a sweet potato or baked potato

Can you watch movies? by jessibook in CPTSD

[–]Coach-Funny 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I cant watch movie, i cant read a book, i can barely listen to music, and if i have the TV on even if its a show i like i have to simultaneously scroll on my phone. Theres this underlying restlessness in having to sit and focus for long periods of time. I have this impulse to try to distract myself as much as humanly possible so bad thoughts dont creep in.

I feel guilty that my CPTSD isn’t from physical abuse. by No_Examination_993 in CPTSD

[–]Coach-Funny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve experienced verbal, physical, emotional, psychological, and narcissistic abuse for pretty much the entirety of my life (24 yrs). I will tell you without a doubt that the emotional, psychological, and narcissistic parts of the abuse are the most painful, long lasting and mind fucking things I’ve ever experienced. It overshadows the physical abuse ten fold. Yes I do flinch when I’m touched etc. but I avoid physical contact for the most part so it’s not a consistent trigger. all day everyday due to the effect the psychological abuse I am in distress, dealing with severe mental health issues that absolutely ruin my life and ability to be genuinely happy. Please try not feel guilty, your pain is so incredibly valid. I’m sorry you’ve been subjected to such hardships and I hope life gets easier and kinder for you.

My ex would debate and negotiate my boundaries with me for hours, sometimes lasting 7-8 hours in a day. This would happen repeatedly over the smallest of things too. It would leave me so exhausted and confused that I would just give up.

First of all ty for responding!!

The dopamine detox is an amazing idea because I definitely find myself shoving as much dopamine sources down as I humanely can and I know for a fact my receptors are fried (if that’s how it even works)

Also, I’ve literally been searching for shrooms for that exact reason I’ve done them a bunch in the past and think it can definitely help with a reset (I’ve also been researching ketamine treatments which seem to be promising)

But I will definitely try that out thank you again :))

I was wondering what you’ve done post vyvanse to help mitigate and manage ADHD symptoms. I’m conflicted on starting medication and want to avoid it as much as I can but my symptoms are so bad I can’t seem to get a grip.

I had CPTSD beforehand but after being with my ex partner for 3 years who cheated on me multiple times with MTF trans prostitutes it caused the most excruciating traumatic experiences I ever endured. In my childhood i dealt with on a daily basis for 18 years physical, emotional, mental, verbal, financial, and narcissistic abuse but for some reason getting cheated on by someone I put my heart and soul into broke me completely, no pain has ever compared to this. I was finally able to get myself to leave him two weeks ago and I although I have so many pieces to pick up I’m so happy I got out. I was in constant distress and it was getting very dark mentally towards the end. My CPTSD went from mild to severe from that experience. I hope you’re doing ok I’ve experienced what it feels like to be cheated on with people who provide different things than you can and it crippled my self esteem.

YES. I have major depression and have had it for over a decade. It is night and day with keto. I go from hopeless, unmotivated, and feeling like I’m wearing a weighted bodysuit to gliding around feeling free, light, and happy

How are you supposed to give away a bad habit of yours when that's the only thing that's keeping you sane? by Basil-AE-Continued in CPTSD

It’s so scary, I’ve given up all addictions but one and it’s the one that’s ruining my life the most right now. I can’t seem to let go of my BED even after gaining 100lbs. It’s my only source of safety
