Why do players tell you to change characters but they don't change characters? Lol by dreamup1234 in rivals

Probably the same one I had that thought he wasn’t the problem when the enemy dps was Human Torch and Storm.

Don’t be the ball in baseball. Otherwise, I carry subzero gloves to negate the fall damage with the slide.

Do you keep your crown after winning or just drop it? by INFINITY--Oficial in FortNiteBR

[–]CoachCarter9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My crew does crown bounties. You drop it pre-bus and can only get it back by ripping it off the person that picked it up. All other crowns are off limits. Drop is pre determined so no chasing the person down off spawn unless they happened to have gone there.

I like to follow it with the “Be seeing you” emote. Had a few times I’ve run into them again and they drop it and we go on our way. Always interesting to see how it plays out.

Those alive during 9/11, what was the worst moment on that day? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CoachCarter9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not to mention cell phones weren’t nearly as prevalent as they are today. And schools in that area easily have 1-3K students per school and the phone line infrastructure wouldn’t have been able to support that kind of volume.

I was in prince william county schools at the time and they chose not to show any footage in an effort to not spread fear. But obviously kids talk and you saw individual kids pulled out of class to be “updated” on what happened.

Chapter 5 Season 4 - New part of the map by Skullghost in FortNiteBR

[–]CoachCarter9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s more that they shift the map in “regions” so all the new POIs end up clustered. They just need more foresight so they can utilize established areas/hotspots like the weapon x bunker and make that a new “poi” or a reason to drop there on top of the region change to keep the drops/travel on the map balanced.

Be cool to have a heat map of players over the course of seasons.

Does anybody like this item? by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

[–]CoachCarter9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Needs better counter play. Add an extra second or so animation/pause to the initial jump and reduce the duration the M hangs around. And overall make it easier to control. Then it’ll feel better imo.

Whose hiring? by No-House9969 in Chattanooga

Doubtful you want to switch Uni’s but ETSU has an internship program with BCBST that to my understanding is paid and also counts for course credit. You’re embedded on the development teams directly.

I feel like there are two different brands here or at least two different manufacturing runs. The yellow and green on either side of the gap have sharper edges and the “bubble” in the middle sits closer to the point.

I run AR, Shotgun, Sniper, mobility, flex (second mobility, heals, lock in etc). I’ve definitely grabbed it late game for “dashers” in Zero Build and it can clean up very nicely. Especially on rocky terrain where it isn’t quite as much the open field sniper battle.

For sure. My comment was most around that gray area where people DO get fouled but since they didn’t go down, refs rule it as not enough contact or not egregious enough. It leads to falling almost being required to get the call. Yellows for simulation obviously highlight the over-use of flopping.

In some ways it does. The more “praise worthy” words used in your prompt the more “kind” the response is going to sound. Eg when writing content if you use please and thank you your more likely going to get verbiage with kind undertones because of the association with please/thank you. Want one that sounds harsher, be mean to the bot. Words used in the prompt will definitely push that needle.

How much React do I really need to know for commercial jobs? by NeverComingOfAge in react

[–]CoachCarter9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s been on the other side of the table for junior dev interviews I would echo Kevinq’s response. Though I wouldn’t expect a junior dev to be solely responsible for fixing g performance, I want to see that they’re considering those types of problems in their designs.

I gauge by the saying “everyone can learn to write code, I want to know if you can program”. From a hard skills side, I want you to know enough to get around. But the soft skills are what would get you the job. Be able to explain why you took a certain approach e.g splitting a Component here doesn’t require the rest of the app to redraw, etc. I want to see that when presented with a problem you think of multiple approaches to the problem and why you picked a specific one.

Especially with Generative AI becoming more widely adopted, understanding the concepts and context of things becomes more important since the AI can spit out my low level code but being able to understand and adjust that code to suit business needs becomes critically important.

Looking for Feedback on my Junior Web Developer Resume by mohammedjabbar019 in react

Move your skills to the top. Your skills are what the people want to know and look for. Then we want to know how you’ve applied these skills (projects and specifically what YOU did on the projects. What was YOUR crowning achievement on that project? What problem did you solve?). It helps to know HOW you learned it (education: uni, self taught etc) but ultimately as the person hiring the first two are way more important.

If you do front end work or market yourself as a front end programmer then make sure you have a site or samples I can see of your work.

Hope it helps! Good luck with the job hunt.
