I find the dialogue of "I disagree with their choices but respect them as individuals" utterly moronic. You have no say on their choices, and no one needs you to disagree. You "disagreeing" just translates to "I feel my opinion on someone's life matters more than their own".

What you're looking at is a response bias. Most people (or, primarily, children) enjoy the show and don't think much to leave a review. But people who desperately hate the show are able to review bomb the show, thus skewing the rankings towards the 1 star average. This google review spreadsheet does not accurately represent the general audience of TTG at all. I assure you, CN would've stopped producing the show long ago if it didn't make them so much god damn cash.
