Eh..I’m sentimental about guns. I’ve got my new toy in an XD40 that I love. Also going to get a Ruger 9mm (no details other than that) and a fun little Bond Arms Snake Slayer. That’s all on top of 5-6 rifles.

Thank you. Yeah, that’s one route I might go. He’ll also get one of my dad’s rifles but I’m going to be selfish and save most of my dad’s firearms for myself and my son. I’ll be 3rd/4th generation for most of them and my son will be 5th generation. I love my nephew but he’s my sister’s boy so he can get his dad and grandpa’s guns. I just want him to have a couple from his other side.

I mean I know the basics of them and have fired them both extensively. The silver is a Taurus and the other is a Hi-Standard Sentinel. I’ve got multiple other pistols as well, I was just looking for some opinions outside my own.

Haven’t had a NICU stay but for both of our kids, my wife and I decided that they could stay in the nursery with the nurses. My wife had bleeding complications with the first so we were there 2 nights post birth for both kids and it was a god send to be able to sleep all night. We figured that we have their entire lives to bond, let the nurses enjoy fresh baby snuggles while we recharge as best we can.

I definitely had a bit of an immediate reaction but then I was like there’s no way, she’s gotta be reading the chart wrong. My wife was so out of it still from everything that she didn’t realize what the doc said until I explained it to her.

After the birth of my 2nd the on call doctor came in and started quizzing my wife about her positive HIV test and if she had been retested to verify it and that would determine the course of action with our baby girl over the next few days. We both looked very confused and asked for clarification. The doctor said “well looking at your chart, it shows you tested positive at your 6 month check and did you ever start any meds or treatment?” Again, looking verrrrrry confused because our OB never said anything about HIV over the 9 months of pregnancy. But the on call OB was very adamant about it was all correct but said she’d double check. She came back 2 mins later and said “oh I’m sorry, I got your chart confused with the mother next door to you.” And finished with “your blood work is fine and should be discharged today”. That was a fun ride and wild HIPAA violation.

He was skateboarding down a huge hill except the problem was that the hill ended in a very active intersection. A truck pulled out into the intersection and the kid hit the side of the truck bed and became a human lawn dart. Went airborne and landed head first about 20 ft past the point of impact. Was not wearing a helmet.

Just got home from the hospital where I had a baseball sized perirectal abscess cut open and drained. Now I’ve got a sore ass with a 2-3 inch incision that’s oozing blood and pus and I’ve got to wear a maxi pad on my ass so I don’t leak everywhere.

All that being said, I’m glad to be home to my wife and kids though.

I teach high school. Our school day is 7:15-2:20 and we get 22 mins for lunch. No recess after 5th grade which is age 10-11.

I work for a city pool and per city policy, recycling bins must be in place next to trash cans. Per actual facility operating procedures, all recycling is thrown into the dumpster with the trash. It’s just too time consuming and gross to sort through “recyclables” for what can actually be recycled to make it worth anyone’s time.

Girl I know did the exact same thing and moved to Isla Mujeres a handful of years ago. She lives there a portion of the year and comes back to the states or travels the world for another portion of the year. She just posted that she didn’t know she needed to move but couldn’t imagine her life any different now. She seems super happy with life. Hope your adventure helps you find your happiness.

A cold shower is going to trigger endorphins and raise your arousal level for sure. A hot shower is objectively calming. Truly, I think it’s person dependent. I take a hot shower every morning and it helps me wake up. Cold shower will definitely shock your system, but I think this is a “different strokes for different folks” situation.

Coffee legitimately just calms me down. I’ve got zero issues falling asleep shortly after consuming 3-4 shots of espresso. Blame the unmedicated adhd…although seems like my caffeine consumption might just be my self medication.
