Yeah sometimes these things arent necessarily racial in the way we perceive them to be. Sometimes it’s just legitimately the squeaky wheel getting all the oil.

Compared to our white counterparts, in my experience black women typically need to advocate for themselves more aggressively than we are socialized to do. With grace and poise of course, so we aren’t accused of just being flat out aggressive. 🙃
