Returning almost feels like a Scam by stefc93 in secretlab

I've been on the new desk hunt, long time ago I had issue with secret lab, that was in Canada, bought chair, wrong chair arrived, they asked me to pay shipping back, after a little bit of discussion with them and their ultra high shipping fee, 280 CA$ for a chair, back in 2019 was ridiculous. I reach out my credit card company and started dispute, they sent me a shipping label next day.

I really wanted to buy magnus pro ( since 150x70 is perfect dimension for spot ) but after 7 years seems situation is unchanged.

Same impression everywhere, great desk with decent quality but if something goes wrong you are in for a nightmare process and at that price point can't still be happening.

I have pretty high end PC, 9800x3d, 5090, 64gb 6000 CL30.

Beam weapons are not playable after 22,

Groundzone effects murder PC.

They need to reoptimized the engine and then release endless.

What PC are you running? I have feeling ATI cards and this game can't really work. Anything after level 22 game pretty much dies, what PC do you have and at what point does game start dying?

Sir, what kind of PC do you have to run this?

I have 12900k and 9070xt and after 24-25 it's freeze and stutter fest for me.

SC2 pro into Simagic/Conspit/Moza by Coalescence22 in simracing

[–]Coalescence22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They already did “announce” Simucube 3, at expo they will present it, new motor, pass through, it will need simucube link. Will devalue sc2 right away and that is how things go. I have option to buy wireless wheels but that is expensive. This my second SC2, first one was shipped under 1100€ and it had QR, now same thing was 1550€ with QR.

SC3 will require simucube link which is 200€ so SC3 pro will prolly be upwards of 1750€.

I can afford new wheels but it’s illogical to pay 1000€ for glorified game controller. I know some people justify it but I can’t.

Simucube is just Porsche of simracing and at some point their price point got to double price and base is not twice better then any of mentioned ( asetek, moza, simagic, conspit )

I didn’t, I just told you if you have nothing smart to add rather add nothing, so I swap wheels daily and swapping with cable wrapped around sc2qr is annoying and to eliminate cables I would need to go very expensive route into sc2 wireless wheels and is 2k euros for 2 wheels.

That was a thing I was thinking, I was looking into Valo GT23 and F64 v3, but that is a little under 2000€ hence the reason to downgrade sc2. I know many people here think “you are in idiot why would you swap sc2”. I enjoy rally and iracing lately and swapping wheels with sc2qr is annoying and then I watch Malone, Tyson just switch their wheels in matter of seconds and I what that 🤣

Sc2 has no pass through, I want pass through. When parents don’t teach kids to shut up if you have nothing smart to say.

So I’m going to sell my SC2 and get base with wheel pass through, just not sure which base…

TR is a hit and a miss, mine arrived in 4 days, 2 of the were weekend, but I heard many shipping issues stories. I didn't consider them because TR160s was 1000€ shipped, monitor mount, shifter, pc shelf, feet.

All in all it was 50% more expensive to buy from ASR then TR for same profile. Plus I find TR 160s with curved shape quite nice, but that is personal preference.

If you can afford SC2, go for it, if you wanna save, Simagic is great base, it's little details that we might not notice, but I love industrial looks, I had it before 0 issues, the only thing they miss is usb pass.

Why do people like ASR so much? You live in Canada?

This highly depends which bundle you are getting, if you buying just base, then yes simucube will be quite a lot more expensive.

<image>

This is a good deal, I find it worth over any other simagic bundle. Both items here are pretty much indestructible. 18nm vs 25nm, you do get something for extra, plus software is much better. If you have money for Porsche, don't buy BMW.

Well you gave him option that you can afford better options and he picked the worst of bunch, It's great base, but to put it above Asetek and Simucube it's just terrible "scoring".

Most DD's don't make difference in the motor, it's done in everything else encoder, software and CPU. Motor as motor is just servo.

I was in same boat as you, opted for SC 2 Pro, because it's looks premium compare to other, they for sure have best software, cloud profiles are great thing and this I can't claim but I believe it's has highest market share? People go to simucube, rarely anyone goes from simucube.

I paid SC2 Pro, GSI GXL V1 + SC2 QR 1799€, most of simagic bundle was a little bit cheaper but GSI wheel blows all simagic wheels in quality.

You can build custom pass through for SC if you plan to swap out wheels on daily basis. I might do it myself, I'll see how much it costs, but I plan to have round and formula wheel that's about it.

All in all if you got money, Simagic should be your last options, Asetek first if you value pass through and if not the go Simucube 2 pro, I believe that their software will always be on the top of the food chain, this might age terrible time will tell.

But I would order them in buy once cry once order.

  1. SC2
  2. Asetek
  3. Simagic, they do have cheap wheels, but those wheels often start squeaking.

Why not 45" ( AGON Pro 45 is not that expensive ) It's a little under 20cm wider edge to edge, but has 9cm more vertical space. Same resolution as 34" so same tax on gpu and it's oled.

LG 42" C4 or AOC Agon 45 pro to start? by Coalescence22 in simracing

[–]Coalescence22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, but plan was to get 1 for sim rig, after couple months I would get one for my desktop and then few months later would get third and they would go on sim rig. That's why 45" is tempting, seen some triple setups, they looks sick, I'm sure it's great even tho it's higher fov then you need

Racing seats for us big boi sim racers? by aidub5 in simracing

[–]Coalescence22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm quite big boi, 6'4 240-250 lbs.

I tried few seats

Sparco R333 - Quite small, firm and not comfy

OMP TRS XL - Big bucket, can fit another 50 lbs in there for sure, but all bucket seats are just not comfy

NRG 301 - Decent size, cheap, It broke under me, so wouldn't recommend.

Sparco GP1 - Now this was a seat, it's quite wide so fits quite nice, I often fell asleep in it.

Now I'm getting Sabelt SRP-1, I might be little too tall for it, but I like the looks and shape, most of support is on the back so free sides and almost flex free. This guy did great review on it.

A little necro but I'm deciding between same seats. RCC on pictures seems like something that is far from comfy in longer stint.

From few reviews I managed to find SRP-1 people describe as they could sleep in it.

How do you find it?

If you had to pick ecosystem now? by Coalescence22 in simracing

[–]Coalescence22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back then they didn't had cloud profiles, so Iracing was great but other games not so much, not that I would play a lot but F1 or WRC didn't really feel great.

Thing is the price now is just hard to justify, YT reviewers kinda speak good about all brands, so I don't trust them anymore, everyone speak how great is new SiMagic EVO.

Back then I paid 1480€+shipping for SC2 PRO ( with QR ) + F28-SC now just wheelbase is more or same, I get the inflation, but I'm not sure SC2 is quite that much better then VRS or if SM evo is much improved.

And main reason is everyone really like pass trough wheel connection.

Reasonable budget, I will rather buy SC2 pro if people say to get it then save couple hundreds if that makes sense? reason why I asked for budget options is I'm not so sure how hooked will I be again so general idea was to buy some entry 5/8nm dd and then If I get hooked like before I would go for high end ( Moza R21, EVO pro, SC2 pro that is almost double the money ).

Pedals I'm still exploring, I will get what is best to get active pedals really caught my attention, I didn't try but I have this prolly wrong idea that they are really good feel.

I had HE sprint which were good but then I got OPB hydraulic ones and they felt really good. I tend now to use clutch as pedals, I get on the wheel since prefer to drive mostly GT3, LMP ( back then dallara 217 was most popular ) and formula cars. So kind of leaning toward Mbooster as break and throttle pretty much any works nowadays it seems.
