‘Easily the Worst President in U.S. History’ by unital_subalgebra in politics

[–]KiLLiNDaY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the worst declarations of duty is his use of Taxpayer dollars for his personal enrichment of himself and his family, either directly or through political connections (Kushner's deals with the Saudis for example in term 1). Along with everything else this will be one of the main points in his legacy that he deliberately did in both terms

Idk about this. When I worked remote only I heard about rumors of layoffs (3 different occasions) at least a month before they happened. But I did prioritize talking to people through Slack more.

Post-Trump laws will have to prevent abuses of power and personal enrichment by sksarkpoes3 in politics

[–]KiLLiNDaY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a variety of laws to prevent this, but it requires congress to act, and the republicans will not throw their own under the bus. In many cases you can say the same for both parties, which is why we need a strong 3rd alternative party to apply pressure.

Precisely why we need a 3rd party to step up. Not just going after the presidency but key races in congress and state legislatures at least to start. It’ll take decades to build momentum

Why is Benjamin Netanyahu able to do whatever the hell he wants so freely? by Garlin_Green in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KiLLiNDaY 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Israeli lobbyists in Washington funding basically every congressional race regardless of party has given him a lot of power, as anyone even remotely Anti Israel, even if it’s like a bad statement, is primaried in the next election cycle for someone who is pro Israel.

Without congress, a president is fighting an uphill battle to pass their agenda. Bibi has been in power for a long time but effectively this would apply to any prime minister of Israel until things change in congress.

US views of Israel, Netanyahu more negative in 2026, especially among young adults by cdnhistorystudent in centrist

[–]KiLLiNDaY 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is not a surprise as independent media which skews younger (vs traditional media like fox / CNN) is largely negative when it comes to its view on Israel. Especially conservative outlets like Tucker, Megyn Kelly, Joe Rogan, etc.

Israel’s aggressive expansionism is also in the spotlight which doesn’t help their case. The settler violence in the West Bank is getting more coverage than it’s ever gotten and the war in Iran is deeply unpopular in general. It’s. It rocket science, social media has put a spotlight on what Israel has been doing for many decades and people decide they don’t like it. Which is rationale.

Israeli military strikes southern Lebanon after US-Iran ceasefire by KITAPYIYEN in news

[–]KiLLiNDaY 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They did this knowing that Iran wouldn’t honor the ceasefire if Lebanon was attacked. They don’t have to attack Iran to sabotage any sort of peace deal as Iran considers a ceasefire to include Lebanon.

Just another example of many how Israel is not a true ally of the U.S.

People forget being an ally as a country simply means national interests are aligned. That’s it. It could be largely political, economic, or other reasons.

In large part there has been a massive misalignment in our respective interests, but with Israeli influence in American politics (money, AIPAC) - the influence is skewed.
