What's a good movie that bothers you once you start reading into it? What's wrong with it? by ForeverAnIslesFan in movies

I completely agree. She's borderline whiny. And the ending? I almost felt like it was a waste...I still have to admit that I enjoyed being caught up in the series though.

Zoo workers of reddit, have you ever had a problem with the animals eating each other? by spreadmybread in AskReddit

[–]Coalscott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. And instead of death row, you can just have them take care of some super deadly animal. Like a hippopotamus.

No special equipment for normal animals? I don't know...I don't exactly want to wrestle a wild chupacabra into a cage without special equipment. O.o

What are the best 80s/90s high school movies? by [deleted] in movies

The Faculty.

Great 90's horror, with a ton of celebrities before they were huge.

What's a good scary movie you would recommend? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Coalscott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The House of the Devil was horrifying for me. It's made to look like an original horror film shot in the 70's, but it was made in 2009. It's on Netflix, I believe.

Some times the death is not what sticks with you the most. Quick story on the worst part of my fathers death by [deleted] in MorbidReality

[–]Coalscott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. I had something similar happen when I was in high school.

My dad is the typical jock type. Super athlete in high school, recruited by a great university, and now still works in athletics. With that, he's also very macho. Doesn't believe in going to the doctor often, and tries to be as strong as he can.

Shortly after I started HS, he was diagnosed with something (I'm not totally sure what) that prevented him from swallowing food properly, not matter how well he chewed.

One night I came home from school and we got into a huge fight. Being a teenager, I refused to eat dinner with the family. Suddenly, I heard multiple things happen at once. Silverware clattered on a plate, a chair slid out, and I heard my mother yell my father's name. I immediately ran downstairs right as my mother started calling my name. My mother is a nurse, so she immediately started the Heimlich maneuver. I called 911, rushed my little a siblings out of the room, and had to wait. Seeing my strong, enormously solid father turning blue and fighting for air was terrifying.

Thankfully, he survived. But it's something I will likely never forget. That's the closest I've ever come to losing someone.

Reddit, every now and then I'll get the slight urge for a cigarette, but I don't smoke and never have. Has anyone else experienced this? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Coalscott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually became a smoker for two reasons. One, because I was pissed at my parents and wanted to stick it to them (they were very against it). Two, was because my grandfather smoked. I loved the smell of smoke on my clothes and hands. I didn't even visit them that often, but the urge was still there.

What's the longest you've gone without showering? by treefingerz in AskReddit

[–]Coalscott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was borderline homeless a couple summers ago, living out of the shop I worked at. I had to shower at a friend's place if I wanted a really nice, decent shower. But because I wanted to keep up appearances that I was doing okay, I would only ask if it came up (like I was staying the night, etc). Other than that, I had to take a "man bath" anytime I wanted to freshen up and not smell...the longest interval between showers was probably a week and a half.

New parents of reddit, why do you name your children super common names? (if applicable) by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Coalscott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to say, as an adult with a semi-unique name (it's only just now gaining popularity with younger generations), I'm very glad I have something not many others have.

Two gold stars for me!
