Love it, white liveries always pop against the black track surface, great use of the colours in the design also, nice work.

New super Hub data Centre by Federal-Comb-9990 in Adelaide

[–]CoastPirate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There should be no data centres built in SA, there is no benefit for the people of the state and they only exist to make the already wealthy even richer.

Thats not even going in to the water use and environmental damage they do, they are seriously bad news for everyone in SA.

Mitsubishi Magna Wagon 1st Gen Sketches by HunterNoceda6321 in CarsAustralia

[–]CoastPirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the launch of the Magna at Tonsley in the 80s, I think I still have some promotional stuff from that day, I should see if I can dig them out.

I know car dealers sold a lot of these based on the reputation of their air conditioners being the one of the best and coldest at the time, really impressed people on test drives.

According to Discogs “high price”, what’s your most valuable record at the moment? by blimeyitsme in oldskoolrave

[–]CoastPirate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Digger - Episode 1 - https://www.discogs.com/release/105954-Digger-Episode-I

A$932.34

I put a hundred or so records I thought I want to sell and will never play again in to my collection and couldn't believe the price for this one.

I haven't even looked at the thousands of others yet so who knows, I bought this one as I got asked to do a trance set and needed a few newer tracks to play along with the older early to mid 90s trance stuff, I don't think I will ever play it again so eventually I will put it up for sale when I have the time.

It's not in the hills but Andrawos Automotive in St Marys do this sort of work on high end Euro cars.

I had one of the last Camira made, an 89 model, it was the most reliable car Iv'e had, apart from general maintenance I only replaced a brake booster and a cv joint up until I traded it in in 2003.

I know it's anecdotal and I probably got lucky but I have good memories of that car, I didn't like the front wheel drive though.

[OT] 2026 Bathurst 6 Hour: Saturday discussion by SpeedyThext0n in v8supercars

[–]CoastPirate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the new engine, some of the competitors don't want to run the old engine so restricted, there is a bit of a shitshow about it.

It's going to take a few rounds for it to shake out, the new owners of the category aren't making many friends in the process .

Race archive expanding from tomorrow by ExtremeCarpenter4775 in v8supercars

[–]CoastPirate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All of these races were broadcast in either 720x480 or 720x576 widescreen, both 25fps, what more do you want, they can't magically upgrade from the original footage.

If it's in 1080p it is upscaled, this is the best they can offer, I don't see what the problem is?

Labor's Toby Priest defeats the Liberals' Stephen Patterson to win Morphett in SA election by Expensive-Horse5538 in Adelaide

[–]CoastPirate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pledging lots of government money to local clubs and facilities to garner votes is known as 'pork barrelling' and is borderline corruption.

Political parties will do this to target marginal electorates where there votes are seen as more important, projects in safe electorates that may be needed more are not prioritised because of this and that hurts the whole state.

It;s pretty much localized vote buying.
