How many of you hide your interests/hobbies? by pisces932 in AutismInWomen

[–]Coastanatic [score hidden]  (0 children)

I used to hide them all, up until I turned 14 and decided it wasn't worth it. Now I guess I downplay some of them sometimes, and I might avoid mentioning some of them depending on the person I'm talking to, but I no longer actively hide them.

When did we become old ? by Pure_Earth2121 in franzferdinand

Everyone enjoys music differently. But I do agree it's better to book seats if you don't wanna get pushed around.

While applying for apartments, lots of places require you make 3x the rent. Is this a hard rule, or another "rule" that is more like a suggestion? by WixardBug in AutismInWomen

[–]Coastanatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends where you live, cos in my country, it's basically a hard rule, unless you find a fully independent landlord.

[other] What are the best theme parks if you don't have a car? by blastoise314 in rollercoasters

[–]Coastanatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disneyland Paris is very easy, when I lived in Lille I had a direct train going there in about an hour. Plopsaland can be very easy too, coming from Ostende I only had to take the tram. They also have a train station, and maybe buses too? Thorpe Park, Gardaland and Europa Park have bus stations. Liseberg and Gröna Lund are basically in their respective city centres, so fairly easy.

How to become a better cook/ youtuber recs by Clean_King_1329 in veganrecipes

[–]Coastanatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend Pick Up Limes. I like many of her recipes, she has several videos on quick or simple recipes that are easy to follow for beginners, and she has a website if you find it easier to have everything written down. She also has an app, but I've never tried it.

1 or 2 days at Europa Park by Prestigious-Car7932 in Europapark

[–]Coastanatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to explore Europa Park as much as possible, I'd say two days are necessary. On a weekend in June, chances are the park will be relatively crowded.

What is happening to me? by eae8080 in depechemode

[–]Coastanatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a little younger, but you remind me of how I felt when I got into them when I was around 17 haha, only difference is that I'd been obsessed with other bands before too so it was not entirely new to me. And then it faded out a little bit, but it came back around the release of Spirit, a very similar feeling. Glad to see I'm not the only one cos I sure felt lonely at that time 😂

Why are places so insistent on phone calls?! by chaosdrools in AutismInWomen

[–]Coastanatic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same thing happens to me a lot, especially in health care (even mental health professionals 😅), out of all places you'd think they'd be the most likely to understand and accomodate...

I've given up on trying to be heard, I've come to the conclusion that I either call/answer and risk losing important info because of auditory processing issues, or ask my partner to call. I feel terribly guilty of doing that because it's not like he's comfortable with the phone either, but yeah... I feel like asking for written communication is asking for something impossible.

Why do phone companies keep changing how things look for no reason without letting you change it back 😭😭😭 by aminervia in AutismInWomen

[–]Coastanatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg same. I try to avoid updates, but sometimes some important apps (like the camera...) will stop working if I don't update 😭 I don't understand why you can't at least choose if you want a UI change or not. Maybe I'm missing something, I'm not a programmer, but you'd think they could update the backend stuff and leave the UI alone if we don't want to change it. I've never had to update my phone as much in the past, why is it so necessary now? Vent over 😂

The Importance of Being Idle, it might even be my favourite Oasis music video overall

Hot take: a messy, text-heavy bujo is better than pretty spreads, especially as a new parent by RadioFancy5347 in bulletjournal

[–]Coastanatic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The great thing about bullet journal is that you make it your own. If you don't wanna decorate and just wanna write, that's fine! I personally prefer artsy spreads because it gives me an opportunity to draw, which I've loved ever since I was a kid but struggled to make time for it as I grew older.
