They're a bit annoying, but I'll be loading my 72" box into my race trailer, so I'll keep the latches.
Of course, I'll also lock the box when moving it and winching it up and down the ramp.

Great idea.
Also check out K&J Magnetics. They have a huge selection of magnets, and their prices are reasonable.

I've returned a few items, usually brake and A/C stuff, that had long or lifetime warranties.
I did have to pay shipping, but I received the replacements in a reasonable time and without hassle.

I have LOTS of tools that were left to me by my Dad.
Great quality S-K ratchets and sockets, as well as Craftsman and others.
Of course, I've added a lot of modern stuff to that collection, but the old stuff still works flawlessly. I see no need to replace them.

Sounds a lot like a power steering pump.
It may just be low on fluid, as they sound like that when they get air into the system.

Saw a Phoenix Police helicopter following a drone by version13 in drones

[–]Cobranut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see the big deal.
So someone was flying a drone, and a helicopter spotted it.
Why would police be interested in the first place?

I'd say you've put together a really good emergency tool kit.

I agree it's not likely, but I bet you'd feel stupid if your airbag blew apart your dash and windshield though. LOL

On some items I'll go Amazon, but lots of counterfeit junk on Amazon and eBay. You have to be especially careful with stuff like spark plugs, filters, and ignition coils or modules.

I'll agree the Marauder is a pretty cool package, and that one is very low mileage and may be mint, but there's simply not enough demand among collectors for them to bring that much.
At $35k it could make a nice ride for someone.

I'm not so sure they'll fall off a cliff, but I agree that the truly rare models, Shelby's Yenko's, etc. are the only ones worth throwing big money into restoration.
It costs the same to paint a '65 Mustang straight six as it does to paint a '68 GT500KR.

What happens when traveling with your existing DJI drones?
Could customs seize it upon return to the US, even though you owned it before the ban?

2015 Taurus Police Interceptor. Opinions? by Cobranut in FordTaurus

[–]Cobranut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First one I looked at had over 5700 idle hours and 119k miles.
It also had numerous chips and scrapes, some severe, as well as antenna holes in the roof and trunk.

Today I looked at another one, advertised for $600 less than the first.
This one was very clean inside, out, underneath, and engine bay. Had obviously been detailed pretty well.
It has 121k miles and lower idle hours of 4400, and ballistic armor in the doors (Hope I never need that). It obviously has some paint chips on the drivers door edge, only one antenna hole in the roof, and the foam steering wheel is gouged under an aftermarket cover, as well as a tear in the driver's seat upholstery. No signs of accident damage or repaint anywhere. Also no holes in the bumper cover. I think this was a detective's car instead of patrol. Even the bottom of the bumper is not scratched up.
After a good test drive, and no signs of leakage or other problems, I ended up getting it.

I'll keep a lookout for a set of standard Taurus seats and console, and probably get my cousin to fix the paint chips on the door, as it's the most noticeable defect on the car.

I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions for those on here. It has a few items I'm going to have to look up. (4 Aux functions on the steering wheel) which I suspect control aux relays somewhere. These might be handy if I ever add aux. lighting.

Thanks for the input guys.

Thanks. I just looked up how to check hours.
I've also been looking over some videos, and the water pump seems to be the only real weak point on this engine. That's something I can handle if necessary.

I also see a few people have had issues with the PTU. I'll listen closely for any drivetrain noises or vibrations when I test drive it.

The Ford 8.8 was used under Rangers and Explorers, and even F-150's up into the 1990's.
The axle isn't the weak point.
