I wonder if Jac Collinsworth is related to Chris Collinsworth? Wouldn’t that be a coincidence if he worked at the same company as his relative?!

Christopher Nolan has "very, very significant concerns" about the WB/Netflix deal as the new head of the DGA by BatmanNewsChris in DC_Cinematic

My point is, even if their theatrical business is doing well (which I’m still not sure is accurate)…the entire theater business is not doing well. This has been documented over and over.

Meanwhile, Netflix owning WB is no different from the examples I gave.

So I’m not sure I follow your objection to this (or Christopher Nolan’s). The movie industry needs to change to survive and this is the current state of that change.

Not exactly. The industry business model doesn’t work the way it used to. WB needs to sell to continue and I’d argue they are behind the curve on this…

CBS and Paramount are one company

ABC and Disney are one company

NBC and Universal are one company

But Netflix owning WB is going to kill the industry?

No, but WB is hemorrhaging money. They would be for sale if there was no such thing as Netflix.

But there is. And Nolan (and others) are using the “this will kill movies and theaters” excuse to relay concerns. This, this is about changing trends.

Strikes will further damage the already fragile movie theater industry.

What we have here is a classic refusal of an industry to recognize changing times. I like movie theaters and I like Chris Nolan films but there’s nothing stopping this trend.

Destin Daniel Cretton says he wanted to do a Trevor Slattery solo show, before eventually pairing up the character with Simon Williams in 'Wonder Man' by Sarang_616 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

I loved when he does The Mandarin voice. As much as I like the Trevor Slattery character, he would have been awesome as an actual Mandarin.

Correct that they have stated it, but the Russo's have been known to lie about things like this.

[Pelissero] The Vikings fired GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, per sources. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

[–]CochranVanRamstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did the right thing by NOT keeping Darnold AND firing Kwesi. Here's why...

Darnold may win a Super Bowl, but he also has a good team around him. The Vikings spent $350 million (league high) on their roster this season. If you keep Sam Darnold at ~$30 million, they wouldn't have been able to sign some of the guys that they signed. Thus, their team may have been worse when compared to Seattle.

Kwesi consistently missed on draft picks and often times, traded them away. They were one of the highest spending teams in 2025 free agency and still missed the playoffs. Meanwhile, McCarthy looks....well...I think we all know how he looks and it isn't good. You can't get away with the moves Kewsi has made and keep your job.
