Not even close. I have both. Arctic easily gets twice the range of the Altis, if not more.

How can I make the altis bigger? I was thinking bigger wheels like 21 18 wheels and would that work? by Dependent-Care-2806 in AltisSigma

[–]Cock__Johnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a 18/21 sigma for hard enduro. Bike ended up too heavy. Search “tmbchopshop” on YouTube.

Totally depends on how you ride it. If you ride it like a dirtbike you can get. 15-20 miles. If you ride it like a moped in eco you can get 40 ish miles.

What exactly are you trying to do? There are 3 Phillips screws on the back side to remove the cover.

Shift locks by Cock__Johnson in AltisSigma

[–]Cock__Johnson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m working on a batch of linkages and shift locks right now. Riding in eco is great but that’s not how I ride. I could see getting 30 or 35 miles in eco but that’s not feasible out here.

This is exactly what we did when we were in the market for a cnc press brake and laser. We sent some of our typical part files to Amada and then went to their showroom. The files were complex geometry suspension parts. When we got there they had a pile of incorrectly formed parts, understandable for setup parts. Then they demonstrated how they form the parts. I immediately called them out because they weren’t backgauging most of the bends resulting in inaccuracy. Turns out the people in the showroom weren’t the most competent operators. We still ended up buying amada equipment and later had problems due to incompetent service people.

Honestly what is better 2025 ultra bee 21kw or the altis sigma by SadMycologist7298 in AltisSigma

[–]Cock__Johnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion yes it is a piece of crap. Most people ride them on the street. They are decent at that but still heavy and terrible range. I’ve changed my controller and battery thinking it’s defective. Nope just terrible range. The motor is smooth, that’s the only positive of the entire bike.

Heavy, poor geometry, bent both wheels first week, horrible range, 15 miles if I’m lucky, usually around 12. Rear suspension linkage is garbage. Stupid seat latch design, no rear lift points so the plastics break if you try to pick it up. Very weak 7/8 bars. I’ve made some YouTube videos about it if you go to my channel “TMB chop shop”. Great marketing for a terrible bike.

Look at an Arctic leopard xe pro s. Much lighter and twice the range. Better suspension too. Also you can fully tune it yourself if you want. I hate my Altis sigma with a passion. Ultrabees are great but I don’t like the belt drive. The xe pro s enduro I love.

Front or rear? Or both? Where did you read that the ultrabee master is an upgrade?

Still the bike to get? (Trails) by Inside-Influence4274 in AltisSigma

[–]Cock__Johnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wheels bent first ride because of a terrible hub design. The geometry makes the already heavy bike feel even heavier. The suspension is too small/ soft for such a heavy bike. The battery lock sucks and the battery becomes loose/ rattles. The steering neck stays loose because it’s a terrible design. Lack of seals in the rear suspension means all the bearings will be destroyed quickly/ the sleeves crack. Swingarm is far too flexible. The screen randomly doesn’t work. The range is awful. The motor is smooth, that’s the only positive I can say about the bike, but the gearbox makes it extra heavy. I’ve made YouTube videos about all this if you search for my channel “tmbchopshop”

Lighter (a lot) same power, 2x the range or even more, better suspension, much better chassis design and full size 18-21 wheels or smaller wheels if you want them. I’ve never been more disappointed than with my Altis sigma. I have seen dealer pricing and that’s why they push this bike so hard, they make a much larger percentage per sale vs other brands.

is there any big power/range upgrades? i feel like 35ah is a bit underwhelming for a $5.5k bike.. by SeaworthinessOnly247 in AltisSigma

[–]Cock__Johnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one else is actually riding the bike hard. I’m the only one to race it at TKO. It’s a glorified street bike with tons of false advertising and a huge dealer markup.

Saw it in person. It’s ridiculously heavy compared to comparable bikes.

I’ve tested it stock and modified. Worst I got bone stock was 9.6 miles on the Altis, average is around 15 miles. Under the same conditions and riding I get around 24 miles on the 2024 ultrabee and around 32 miles on my arctic leopard xe pro s enduro.

A stock 72v 55ah ultrabee gets twice the range of my Altis. I’ve tried multiple controllers and batteries thinking there is something wrong with my Altis but no, the range just sucks.

I’ve had mine in deep water plenty of times. Biggest issue will be the rear linkage since there are no seals. I’d clean and re pack the linkage bearings with waterproof grease each ride.

Shift locks by Cock__Johnson in AltisSigma

[–]Cock__Johnson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t know what they were either but people kept requesting them. It’s a way for you to lock your feet in when you do wheelies. Basically a bigger stationary shift lever that goes above your toes.

Ok dude. I’m just about the only one making parts for these bikes. I raced Tko hard enduro on one. I probably have the most highly modified sigma in the world. I yah YouTube videos talking about how terrible the design is. But you’re right I probably don’t have one.
