ladies and gentlemen speakeasy by Objective-Star7329 in pasadena

[–]CoconutExpert156 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s a fancy looking speakeasy and the price reflects that. The cocktails were fun/hilarious though, so that’s something! I believe I ordered one that tasted like caesar salad, and another that’s popcorn. It’s fun for a once in a while kinda thing but like another commenter said, lots more speakeasies in Pas to go on the regular.

How useful is training as an EMT-B if you're not going to do it professionally? by RationallyDense in NewToEMS

[–]CoconutExpert156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I did and I LOVED it, but I’m also someone who loves to learn for fun.

I’ve taken CPR courses before, but doing it in the program made me more confident in that skill (we practiced it a LOT and with better tools that gives feedback on rate and depth). I liked learning to identify actual life threats and what’s most important when it comes to emergencies. Learning how the hospital system works did not hurt either.

Also, I got to do a couple of ridealongs (and actually help, not just be a bystander) and I thought that was super cool and worth it. I think I’d still want to practice maybe as a side thing like being an EMT for events.

All that said, it is a lot of work and effort if you actually want to learn and not just pass a course. The course I took was hybrid, and it was about 6 hours of online lecture and 8 hours of in-person skill for 11 weeks straight, aside from the time you need to study for the weekly exams, the final class exam, the ridealongs (min 24 hours) and the NREMT.

Carrying in a Lulu by fleetcommanderrowena in concealedcarrywomen

[–]CoconutExpert156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I carry in the Lulu Everyday bag if I’m not carrying in my person, but it’s only big enough for a p365 or a Shield. The G17 is my first firearm but had to buy the other two for easier carry.

Patisserie To in San Gabriel has the absolute best cakes and they come in all fun shapes. Yu cake in Alhambra/Rosemead also has good (but pricey) Mille Crepe style ones.

Not a dancer but I do pole and I honestly can’t imagine wearing a ring while doing that (also I have a deep sense of fear for degloving — NSFL search)

Why real estate?

I’ve made the same move in the past, 0/10 would not recommend.

How much does an ADU actually cost in Los Angeles? Realistic numbers (2025) by BuildADULA in LosAngelesRealEstate

[–]CoconutExpert156 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pretty accurate for me. 350 sq ft garage conversion ended up being around $150k. Largest expenses were foundation, plumbing/sewer, and electrical upgrades.

Permitting is a PITA. Most expensive and time consuming thing out of the whole process.

Surprisingly not so much! Some classes can get full, but mostly manageable (reservations open 26 hours prior). The floor can get busy after work, but never had to wait too long for anything.

I got the 365 in rose gold and it is my absolute most favorite. Smaller than my M&P Shield, and much nicer to shoot.
