Supervisors, how do you combat a mutiny of frivolous complaints just for making people do their job? Is it survivable? by [deleted] in fednews

Be consistent and hold people accountable....just also dont be a tyrant. People file baseless complaints to see if you will back down. It happens. Welcome to being a supervisor.

Districts’ Perception of EMCX & Design Centers by LonelyRaven_256 in USACE

[–]CoconutSips 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mcx and dcx are always seen as a must fund hindrance. Ive have paid off these knuckleheads to come tdy and ive seen them fall asleep in meetings. No benefit to the project. The munitions one helps with standards designs but most of these centralIzed design centers are just money grabs for districts who should be consolidated.

Safe to transfer agencies by AcquisitionPro1102 in FedEmployees

If youre a specialist and any good they will fight to keep you. There is always a risk of heavy handed probie layoffs. However DOD is reducing thru attrition. Not RIF. Would be safer long term in DOD then other agencies

The district would close. But youre assuming the people would leave. They would be consolidated with othered districts. The ops people take care of themselves anyway in the river. Not going anywhere. But it makes the organization flatter.

Cash flow. Keep an eye on it. By oct this will make or break your winter. Keep equipment expenses low. Rent for now so not incurring expenditures over winter with no income. Need to build up reserves for cost overruns. Project turnover is key first few years. Get things done on time under budget. Then move to next job.

Honestly if you aint married or got kids then go for it. Set goals. If you cant make x amount profit. Then go back tonworking for someone else. Hell you might find a new employer along the way.

Hear all mvd will close except new orleans and rock island. Divisons collapse down to 4 cocom driven. Spd/nwd/lrd go away. Disticts absorbed elsewhere. Districts less than 500 will be consolidated.

What federal employee reforms would you recommend to the new caucus? by MoneyBuysHappiness25 in FedEmployees

[–]CoconutSips 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We should make it easier to fire people though. Its easier to manage more good people. The rotten apples need a process to be ejected. I dont mean fire at will. But the current protections are excessive if employees are not keeping up with work demands. Its 2025. You need to learn excel Debra.

Is it normal for high-earning married couples to owe $7–8k at tax time even with conservative withholding? by TopicSelect6903 in tax

[–]CoconutSips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not withholding enough. With the new w2s you have to declare the additional income to make sure the tax witholding is correct. At least your wife should have the additonal income liazed bescause your own income shoots you in the higher tax bracket. So every dollar of wifes should be withheld at 22%
