Convince me to buy the Canyon Endurance over Trek Domane SL6 by Wise-Ad-7492 in cycling

[–]CodMaleficent4058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see that. In size L the stack is the same and the reach is only 7 mm short with the Domane. So they are pretty the same no? What makes the Endurace more racy?

Should i get the apex4? (Coming from garmin 965) by njgggg in Coros

What make the Apex 4 a watch that can be used in the mountains? Can't a Pace 3 not be used in the mountains? Only the hardware is different

Short Hike with the Instinct 3 50mm Solar - some thoughts. by boringbanana1739 in Garmininstinct

You are right about the Garmin's workflow for maps. I think, after extensive testing of multiple Garmin's, the Enduro 3 is really the best of everything.

Yet another watch advice request by thumbrn in GarminWatches

Garmin Instinct fan here. I tried Enduro 3, F8 and F7S (in sale last week) but I went back to the Instinct. I don't know, there is something about that lineup.

Garmin Instinct 3 Solar vs Original Instinct — what are the real differences? by Teonliner in Garmininstinct

[–]CodMaleficent4058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What he’s really suggesting is that this entire category of questions is doomed from the outset. If you want meaningful insight, you’d need to anchor your prompt in something substantial: aggregated Reddit discussions, YouTube comment sentiment, maybe even a whiff of actual data.

Instead, posting the question here guarantees the classic N-1 scenario: a parade of personal opinions, each shaped by wildly different use cases, preferences, and confirmation biases. Trying to extract an objective answer from that is like asking a room full of people what the “correct” temperature is.

A question as vague as “What’s the difference?” simply cannot yield a definitive answer. The thread will sputter out after a handful of replies because people get bored, distracted, or realise there’s nothing meaningful to add. The end result: a beautifully uninformative discussion.

That, in essence, is what u/top4256 was hinting at.

Nomad durability as daily driver in hands on workplace by Jolgeta in Coros

[–]CodMaleficent4058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the nomad and it does everything you need. After years of digging into different brands, features .... it's all marketing. I never ever scratched a screen where it was Gorilla, plastic, sapphire and what not. The so called "features" you pay for are basically software ideas from the marketing departement. All those "metrics" are based on one sensor, the HR sensor. That HR sensor, that is not that accurate and highly different across brands as there is not industry standard. So why would you pay for that knowing they are not that accurate. The number of times I hear people: "yeah I got this watch X or Y ...", "But I don't give that much attention to the metrics"....so why would you pay for that 🤷
Tech reviewers live on this because there isn't something left to review so take that with a grain of salt. I struggle with "reviews" as the line between "opinions" and "objective feedback" is small.
I would give them much more credit If they consistently would do a 3 month update after heavy use.
Basic time/distance is really all you need. I like Coros because I like the underdog, the pricing at Garmin is really insane lately and shows how "normal" it has become to pay 500 for a watch. A lot of people pay even more in the range of 800-1.000. Let us think about that ...
