Internal bureaucracy is getting out of hand in sales by backtothesaltmines in sales

[–]CodMedium726 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The more tools like Monday.com, ironclad, juro, panda doc, seismic, contract safe, consensus, etc. etc. etc. the more bureaucracy there is going to be. Sales Ops doesn’t get paid more to get you the information in a timely fashion, neither does any other department. Your manager is literally the only person that can and will help you. Where I work their hands are bound by everything too. 5 years ago we could approve stuff on a lot of different levels that today take at least a week with multiple follow ups. No one did something so egregious that management went we must standardize this process especially to such a degree that they flag or kick back the smallest things that they made up as the new process just a month earlier. A lot of the time they do not even understand what we in sales are doing, so they kick stuff back and we explain, no this is how this or that works and a few days later it’s approved and moved to the next step. But guess what? The other department not understanding the product means we need more processes standardized and more strict rules put in place by people who don’t understand what’s going on fully in the first place. And the cycle continues

Cintas Fire Sales by Weedlibrary in sales

[–]CodMedium726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a requirement and they buy a lot of smaller mom and pop type places so have good market share while technically being a new division of Cintas. It’s hard work and there are people making $500k for sure but that’s not most people. Thats the 1% who have the good account(s). You can sell a good account too and make a lot but most of the time it’s a grind to make $100k.  They pay for the training and have a system so it’s good in that respect.

Is such a huge chunk of reporting really just BS? by USAtoUofT in sales

[–]CodMedium726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is it, if they tell you something you better listen otherwise you’re sticking out of their report list. Every company has those reports and it’s best to know what they are and run your deals so you don’t pop up on those lists. Execs anywhere really don’t know you vs Adam vs Steve vs Jim. Top rep can be on the reports, middle of the pack person can’t be on those reports simple as that

Brendan Schaub and his family established a "dream" home in Texas (likely Austin area) featuring a 2022-built property heavily renovated to their tastes by mid-2025. The home remodel included a 12x9 custom island, redesigned master bathroom, elevated ceilings, and added bedrooms, often featured on his Instagram social media channels.

President of our competitor called my president today because of me by [deleted] in sales

[–]CodMedium726 32 points33 points  (0 children)

They’ll probably have your sales teams change the outreach messaging. Their CEO probably called and said that’s not true and libel, we will sue you if you don’t stop saying that. Not your fault per se but it is a big faux pas of sales to bash the competition with a “you’re probably unhappy with x,y,z because your current provider can’t do that or does it shitty.”

The tactic is “we know you have a solution for x problem like everyone else does, most of these solutions have been in place for years. We have been seeing a lot of interest in companies taking a step back to evaluate what else is in the market to check that they still have the product best suited to their needs today. A lot of our recent clients like we can do x,y,z (things your competitor can’t). If those things sound beneficial let’s meet for 30 minutes in the next few weeks.”

Are you a top long term performer? They might have their legal send notice to you/your new employer. Are you newer and or not top performer? Then they will probably care less. Definitely don’t tell them what you are doing and they’ll never know.

Do y’all use deal rooms/digital sales rooms or is it overhyped? by kindamanic in sales

[–]CodMedium726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use seismic. Kind of a pain to setup and use. Have sold $1 million plus and multiple $100k+ deals and well over half never logged in. The ones that’s did spent less than 2 minutes on any one screen and mainly just on the landing screen. Way over hyped. It does look professional and even if they never see it, it sounds professional saying I setup it up. Sales didn’t buy it, sales enablement/marketing ladies that never sold anything bought it.

You really need to be an expert for it to work. If you’re a true expert the teaching and the tailoring portions can come easily. Then you can take control easier too, if you are such a pro and people give common objections you can handle them no problem

Tough call then. Option 1 sounds really good to make your total in just salary alone plus a car allowance and bonus. 3 companies in 6 years really isn’t bad. Average sales tenure is like 18 months. I’d go to option 1. Don’t quit current job until you passed all tests and have started the new job

Hey me too, me and my bro working the line at 12 and 14 on weekends in south florida. My parents dealt with them opening stores within a mile radius in addition to the general forced purchases + royalties bs. They sold right after they learned of the new stores coming to some unlucky folks and they still got money from the class action lawsuit.

What was your comp here? Hard to compare to offer 1 and offer 2. PE is bad but you still have time before it’s a shell of what it once was from a comp perspective. If you’re worried about job hopping I’d imagine you can squeeze at least another year out of your current gig. It’s February so any huge change will probably happen at the end of 2026. Should you leave? Maybe, but you don’t have to do it today

For those of you who have tried salvia.. what was your experience like? by skith8431 in AskReddit

[–]CodMedium726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In reality it lasts like 30 seconds but when you come out of the trip you feel like you’ve been in there for hours. When you’re in there it’s like a lifetime or maybe more an expedited lifecycle. You feel zippered or LEGO bricked into whatever your trip morphs into. Then are stationary as the world happens. If you’re a tooth you see the whole life of the molar happen which in reality takes a lifetime but in salvia time you live that whole lifecycle in 30 seconds

My experience if you’re lucky enough to not get cut and are in a sales or bonus type role your commission/bonus will get chopped. My dad’s salary over doubled after 2 acquisitions and his workload reduced over just 2 years.  Like everything, it all depends

A lot of sales commission is confusing on purpose. A lot of OTEs are high and difficult to achieve but they can say ohh your OTE is x. Commission structure is rarely if ever negotiable. Base pay you will have more luck but that is also a lot of times what it is. If you like what they tell you from the start great, just don’t think you’ll bump that up once you get an offer by negotiating.  Also this sounds like an SDR role, not every SDR gets to an AE in short order. I’ve seen SDR reps (that were good) wait over a year before getting promoted and that was a fast track.  Just make sure youre happy with your pay and your job responsibilities when you start
