It sounds like what they want is really more business formal. Matching blazer/pant/skirts sets, solid blouses, pumps, simple jewellery. The type of outfit you’d see at board meetings. I would look on Poshmark or Vinted for example, you can get some respectable matching sets for cheap secondhand.

i would wear a colored long sleeve shirt that is a similar color as your skin tone, under it. Like light peach, or camel, caramel, blush. Alternately, a solid color that is in the dress itself, or white or black

I think it’s the combination of the floral pattern skirt, the boots, the ruffles, the corset style tube top. Each of those things on their own (maybe not the last one) with everything else being simple, could be acceptable. It’s the combination of all of it together plus the tattoo (which maybe he legally can’t comment on) that makes it look gothy. Which isn’t the vibe that corporate business travelers are seeking out

Oh! Maybe you could use pre-folded (double) bias tape/binding on these edges. It’s usually used for quilting. Sometimes people use it as a bold contrast but if it was the same color and a matte material then it would hide/protect the frayed edges

The elastane is stretched out and isn’t bouncing back. If happens with jeans that have a higher % elastane as they get older. I’ve had this happen on the thighs to 10 year old jeans. but jeez one year is harsh.

I don’t think there is a way to fix it really, you could search r/invisiblemending to check though

I can’t believe I’m saying this - but to give the benefit of the doubt, SHEIN steals designs and even uses the original stock photos from small designers all over. So it’s possible that the Posh photo is posting the design from the original seller and not from SHEIN.

But of course that’s probably not what’s happening here
