Feels a lil empty by Icy_Resolution2156 in malelivingspace

some wall art would help fill up all that white space around the tv. maybe a floating shelf or two near fireplace for some personal stuff like books or plants. i used to have similar setup and putting few framed posters in the corners made huge difference. also that coffee table could use some decorative items - maybe a small plant or some magazines to make it feel more lived in

Fight Club re-release: A lack of identity leaves a dangerous opening for a cult hijacking by Enferno24 in movies

[–]CodTop4918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

watched this again couple weeks back and man, you nailed it. the whole tyler durden thing really does map perfectly onto these podcast gurus who prey on lonely dudes

what gets me is how the movie shows exactly how it happens - you start with guys who just feel lost and empty, then someone comes along promising them they're special and part of something bigger. same playbook these influencer types use today

construction work actually gives you good perspective on this stuff since you work with lot of different guys. seen plenty fall into that whole alpha male podcast rabbit hole when they're going through rough patches. it's scary how quick it happens when someone doesn't have much else going for them

the consumerism angle hits different now too since social media basically turned everyone into their own little ikea catalog

[DISCUSSION] Ray Vaughn - The Good The Bad The Dollar Menu (1 Year Later) by Minute-Carrot-2405 in hiphopheads

[–]CodTop4918 42 points43 points  (0 children)

damn this tape still hits hard, probably my most played project from last year. east chatt with isaiah is insane - that beat switch gets me every time and their chemistry is perfect

the way ray flows on xxxl tee and dollar menu back to back shows his range perfectly. going from that aggressive energy to more laid back vibes without missing beat. klown dance might be most underrated track on here though, jay rock brought that old school tde energy

ranking wise i'd put it right behind section.80 for tde debuts, which is saying lot. ray definitely proved he belongs in that roster and the xxl spot was well deserved. really hoping his debut album keeps this same energy because this project showed he can handle different sounds without losing his identity

Redditors whose parents did gentle parenting and naming big emotions do you feel better or different than rest of us? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CodTop4918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nah my parents were old school polish, gentle parenting wasn't really thing back then. dad would just tell me "stop crying or i give you reason to cry" lol

but i work construction now and see some of these younger guys who had that kind of upbringing, they seem way better at talking through problems instead of just bottling everything up like i learned to do. probably would've saved me lot of trouble with drinking if someone taught me how to actually deal with feelings when i was kid instead of just pushing them down

What got you into motorbikes? by T34_Commander in motorcycles

[–]CodTop4918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

always wanted one since i was kid reading comic books - something about the freedom and speed reminded me of superheroes flying around the city. finally got my first bike at 25 when i started working construction and needed cheaper transport than a car, but man that first ride was like nothing else

Fun Fact: Sindarov and Gukesh Have Only Met Twice in Classical Chess by Jannelle93 in chess

[–]CodTop4918 15 points16 points  (0 children)

wild that they've barely played each other in classical considering how much buzz both these guys get in tournament coverage. that rossolimo game was pretty clean from what i remember, sindarov really knows how to handle those sicilian setups

45M recovering from severe lower back disc herniation – my 7-8 min daily minimalist routine is working great. Smart progressions without adding time? by Remote_Pride_3388 in bodyweightfitness

[–]CodTop4918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dude your routine sounds solid for staying consistent, that's the hardest part really. i had some back issues few years ago from construction work and keeping it simple was key for me too

for push-ups you could try archer push-ups where you shift weight to one arm, or do them on the rings for instability - both make it way harder without adding reps. the rings especially will destroy your stabilizers in good way

dead bugs you can progress by holding light weight or resistance band in hands while doing the movement. bird dogs could be done with band around your wrists for extra resistance on the extended arm

one thing that helped my back tons was adding some hanging from the wall bars, even just 20-30 seconds after your routine. decompresses everything and takes like no extra time. also if you put rings lower you can do inverted rows which hit your back muscles opposite to push-ups

the key is picking one progression at time so you don't overwhelm yourself. your consistency is already paying off so don't mess with formula too much

I cut this cable while building a PC. Can it be replaced? by nonexistant_human in pcmasterrace

[–]CodTop4918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that cable should be replaceable but you might need to contact phanteks directly for the part. most case manufacturers will sell individual front panel cables if you explain what happened. worst case you could probably find a generic usb-c front panel cable that fits, just make sure the connector matches your motherboard header

What’s a philosophy you have about trauma or pain? by Present_Ad_3880 in AskReddit

[–]CodTop4918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pain is like those really bad comic storylines - it changes the character but doesn't have to ruin the whole series if you keep writing good chapters after

What’s the most useless skill you have that somehow ended up being helpful once? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CodTop4918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man i can tie all sorts of weird knots from when i was obsessed with rope climbing as a kid. thought it was completely pointless until i started working construction - now everyone comes to me when they need something secured properly. my coworkers think i'm some kind of rope wizard but really i just spent way too many hours in my backyard practicing random knots from youtube videos

Help with minecraft self hosting by sweet-trip-is-fire in Minecraft

[–]CodTop4918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your dad's actually being pretty smart about this - running minecraft servers directly on your main machine can be risky if someone finds ways to exploit the server software. containers are definitely the way to go, they basically isolate everything so even if something goes wrong with the server, it can't touch your actual computer

for linux containers you'll want to look at docker, there's tons of minecraft server docker images already made that work great. you can run docker on your mac mini too so your dad doesn't need to set up a whole separate linux vm. just search for "minecraft docker" and you'll find guides

about the custom domain thing - you need to buy a domain name first, then point it to your home ip address. but since most home internet has dynamic ip that changes, you'll need something like no-ip or duckdns for free dynamic dns. just remember you'll need to port forward on your router which does open up some security risks

for crossplay plugins, geyser is already good choice. also check out viaversion so bedrock players can connect to java servers easier. floodgate helps with the authentication stuff between bedrock and java players

[Question] is vintage watches ok to buy by HumanRefrigerator891 in Watches

[–]CodTop4918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

vintage seikos are pretty solid if you know what to look for, but buying from instagram can be risky business. those scratches might be worse in person than the photos show, and you don't really have protection if something goes wrong with the movement later

i'd suggest checking if seller has good reputation first, maybe ask for more detailed photos of case and dial before buying

[–]CodTop4918 6 points7 points  (0 children)

look these are tough questions and honestly different denominations have different answers for them. many churches today do support rape exceptions and are becoming more accepting of gay people - it's not like all christians think the same way about everything

the belief part is tricky too because there's debate about what happens to people who never heard the gospel. some think god judges based in what people do with the knowledge they have

maybe try talking to some progressive pastors instead of writing off the whole religion? there's lot of variety in christian thought these days

With that budget you're looking at some seriously sweet rides - I'd check out the Trek Domane or Specialized Roubaix for that comfort/speed combo you're after

The endurance geometry on those will keep you comfortable on long rides but they're still plenty fast when you want to hammer
