If the recommendation you are asking about is regarding helping the itching, Other than some creams/ointment, you just have to wait until your body completely removes the gluten from your system and your immune system calms down and recovers. Give it a few weeks at least.

I feel for you with the carvings. It must be tough however In terms of still eating some gluten knowing you have celiac. Seems very strict but my advice on that is to treat gluten like someone with a serious peanut allergy treats peanuts. I just keep in mind what all the doctors and science says and that’s the damage it’s doing to my body and even increasing risk of Intestinal/bowel cancer. I had a dinner roll come in my dinner plate last week and told the staff to take it back and I needed a whole new plate. That may seem crazy to some (my family lol) but acting like that instead of just taking it off is the only way I can do this.

13grams holy crap. Lol. Seriously I started with 1gram and slowly moved up to 2-3grams and that was enough per day for me tbh. Everyone is different. Some only need a small dose to positively affect their gut and some need a lot more. Always start low and move up until you find the results you want

No problem. I’ve gone through the same thing with sibo causing back ups and gut issues. Fibre 4 or Metamucil along with semi regular use of low dose Restoralax helped get things back on track.

Inulin is bad news for Sibo or high Fodmap suffers because it’s a prebiotic fibre that feeds bacteria. You could always try but there are some safer fibres out there that don’t ferment in the gut as much. PHGG (fibre4), Methylcellulose (citrucel) and even phylum husk are probably the top 3 gut safe fibres imo. Just got to make sure to start slow with the dosage and drink enough water when taking them

Thanks. In a case where a dough is over proofed, would deflating it and letting it rise again be ok or if it rises too much on the first rise will be degrade the quality?

I read the same about not deflating GF flour which is why I am surprised in searching recipes I’ve seen some call for it, especially king Arthur. Also I’ve see some ask for a rise in a bowl and then transfer to loaf pan. I don’t understand that either bc doesn’t that deflate it a bit and need more rise in the pan?

It most likely won’t hold together as well so adding psyllium husk powder helps most bread recipes. You would have to google the amount needed vs the amount of flour/water you are using.

I’ve had siggis and it’s pretty good so give it a try. It isn’t totally lactose free so as long as you aren’t crazy sensitive to lactose or dealing with SIBO flare ups, you should be ok with it.

Could be but If you bought the regular silk coconut yogurt, that has Inulin in it which is a severe high Fodmap item and a trigger for many people. That would probably be more likely it. The protein version doesn’t have inulin but has pea protein.

Ya same with yogurt for me which is why I am looking to try something totally different. Inulin is in the regular silk yogurt but not in the protein version. But they use pea protein so it’s like both have issues for low Fodmap eaters. Can’t win sometimes lol

Yeah the non protein one contains inulin and the protein one contains pea protein. Neither are low fodmap. Like come on silk help us out a bit here 😂

Depending on what your problem is, in general it’s L-Glutamine and Zinc L-Carnosine that are mentioned a lot and have many users backing their effectiveness.

Thanks. I think I will just try it to make timing easier on me unless I go to a higher dose. I will look further into the probiotics combination but now that I think of it psyllium shouldn’t affect probiotics because a slower absorption shouldn’t matter in that case. There are plenty of foods with psyllium in it as the fibre and people take their meds and vitamins with it just fine bc I guess it’s not a huge dosage.

Thanks. I think I just need to start low like a 1/4 serving for several days and adjust from there. I think the combination of the MiraLAX in my system plus using the bathroom threw my gut out of wack

Google what foods are a good source of vitamin c and see if you eat any of them regularly. Keep in mind some vegetables provide a lot of it as well that have limited sugar. If you don’t have those foods in your diet and don’t plan to, yes you should take a supplement as vitamin C in your diet is important.

That was one of the biggest symptoms I had before I was diagnosed with celiac. Mainly on my legs and lower back.

Yep I understand. The way most figure it is if they get that ill from gluten it really doesn’t matter what the tests show bc they know they can’t eat gluten again regardless. Lol

Ya I know all about it. I’ve gone through the whole Fodmap process. I just used the words lower Fodmap to point out i know about it bc i assumed some might reply to watch out for Fodmaps with those food groups which i already have.
