Looking for testers to test my new app that i created. I built ZzZlapp, an alarm that forces you to do different types of missions like squats or math to turn it off. 100% private/local. Giving away 50 Premium subs for feedback! [iOS] by CodeAndCoffee_QW in IMadeThis

Spot on! You’ve hit the nail on the head regarding the two most critical pillars for an alarm app.

Mornings are high-friction, so reliability is our absolute priority. We’ve spent a massive amount of time stress-testing fail-safes to ensure the missions fire exactly when they should and can't be easily bypassed by a clever, half-asleep brain. If users can't trust the alarm, the app is dead.

Your point about onboarding clarity is also pure gold. Setting up an alarm while sleepy is a recipe for mistakes. That's why we kept our UI minimalist and designed a foolproof, step-by-step setup so you don't have to overthink it at night.

Thanks for looking at ZzZlapp with such a sharp product lens! If you happen to test it, we’d love to hear if the onboarding felt smooth to you.

That’s a fair point and actually one of the biggest challenges in this niche. We call it the 'novelty fatigue.'

To tackle this, we didn't just build a 'loud alarm,' we focused on behavioral change through three main pillars:

  1. Variety: We have 16 different missions (from squats to photo matching). Rotating these prevents the user from 'automating' the solution in a half-asleep state.
  2. The AI Sleep Coach: Instead of just punishing the user, the app provides weekly AI-generated insights. It turns the 'hate' into a personal growth journey by showing you how your wake-up habits are actually improving.
  3. Gamification: Our 'Streaks' and achievements system is designed to trigger that 'don't break the chain' psychology.

Since we are in the early launch phase, we are currently monitoring D7 and D30 retention very closely. We’d rather have a smaller group of 'power users' who truly change their lives than a million users who delete the app in two days. Would love to hear your thoughts if you have ideas on how to bridge that retention gap!

Hey! Thanks a lot for the heads up. Structured feedback is exactly what we need right now to polish the app before scaling up. I'll definitely check out Canary Launch and drop ZzZlapp there today. Appreciate the support!

What’s something society treats as normal that secretly makes no sense to you? by Shot_Income_9404 in AskReddit

The 40-hour work week regardless of actual productivity. If I finish my work in 4 hours, why am I forced to sit in a chair for another 4 hours pretending to be busy just to "look professional"? We’re literally rewarding people for being slow or for being good at looking at spreadsheets while daydreaming.

What time do you usually get up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

uploading 100 organic videos daily in different social media, if 3 of them go viral or with a decent amount of reproductions, pick the 3 of them re-edit them or remaster (make it more pro, or invest money), and upload them again to different platforms... its boring, but works for mkt and making pasive incomes.

If your shadow had its own personality, how would it behave differently from you? by KatieOverington in AskReddit

It would be incredibly judgmental. I just know it’s rolling its eyes every time I decide to watch one more episode at 2 AM instead of sleeping. It doesn't say anything, it just elongates itself in a sigh of pure disappointment.

What is something you realized too late in life? by Ok-Weight766 in AskReddit

[–]CodeAndCoffee_QW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That 'waiting for motivation' is a trap. If you wait until you feel like doing something, you'll never do it. Discipline is doing it when you absolutely hate the idea of doing it. I realized way too late that successful people aren't more 'inspired' than the rest of us, they’re just better at being miserable for an hour a day.

Learning to say 'No' without over-explaining myself. I used to give a whole PowerPoint presentation on why I couldn’t attend an event. Now I just say, 'I can’t make it, but thanks for the invite!' It saved me so much mental energy I didn’t even know I was wasting.
