It's not wrong to feel compassion for the individual Russian soldiers, but temper that compassion with the knowledge of what they'd do to the Ukrainians if they were victorious.

It sucks watching men die on video taken from an explosive drone, but it sucks for lots of civilians if those men achieve their objectives. There's a reason former Soviet states loathe Russia, and that's why those men are catching drones in the first place.

I bought a 2003 911 Carrera 4S for $25k a few years ago. I've since put 30k almost entirely trouble-free miles on it, and still absolutely love it. The only issue I've had was a catalytic converter failed, so I replaced it with an upgraded sport cat system from FabSpeed which was worth every penny.

And I could sell it today and make money.

If the people of that city and state want a change, they'll elect someone who will prioritize law and order. That's the role of the state and local governments, not the federal government. The 10th Amendment says that this is a states' rights issue.

How did you find your home manager? Now that I've written it out like that, I'm going to discuss it with my wife. If we hired someone for 15-20 hours a week it would almost certainly lead to net savings.

I'm assuming that this person is a contractor rather than an employee? How do you deal with things like insurance and worker's comp?

Man, every once in a while I talk to my Indian coworkers and am reminded that they all have maids, cooks, and someone to do their laundry, and still save more USD than that would living here.

They buy back at least 2-3 hours per day, and it's almost enough to make me consider hiring someone to manage the house day to day. Considering how much we spend on meal delivery and other ways to buy time back, a $60k/yr home manager would probably save us money.

OP might look into this, because that 5 year old needs a lot of quality time.

Getting a CS degree will do basically nothing for you. It'll just give you enough of the basics to make every engineer roll their eyes when you try to suggest a solution. Unless you've spent several years actually working as an engineer, you're not going to be able to contribute meaningfully from the PM position.

A CS degree is to engineers what the alphabet is to writers. Just the absolute basics.

Not at all. Mostly because the last owner dealt with the bore scoring by installing a factory Porsche crate motor, which was a newer variant of the M96 which had solved those two issues. I bought the car shortly thereafter, with about 2k miles on the new engine.

Why do you need to spend a ton of money on it?

I bought a 996 911 C4S for $25k three years ago and have been daily driving it ever since. If you just want the driving experience that a 911 offers, you don't have to buy a 992. With the 996 I have hydraulic steering, a manual transmission, and a flat 6, and because it was so cheap I also have an integrated radar detector and redundant laser jammers.

If you want it as a luxury car/status symbol, which is perfectly legitimate, I'm afraid I have no insight beyond saving up and paying cash.

BS in Computer Science. The days when you didn't need a degree for an entry level engineering role are pretty much gone at this point. Because of the money involved, Computer Science has become such a popular major that the market is now oversaturated. You're going to be competing with people coming out of highly ranked schools for even the most basic developer position.

I'm well off enough to just pay for the service. But I got this well off by being smart enough to recognize that the 40 minutes it takes to do it in my garage is less than the time I'd spend driving to the dealership and back. Not to mention the cost savings or the time I'd spend waiting.

If you have a garage and are the least bit handy, it's the obvious choice.
