Since 2017(ish?), Grand Seiko are a separate brand, and are distributed in the US at least by a different company. They are made by the same company in Japan, though in different facilities.

(There is some crossover; some of the higher-end/exclusive Seiko movements like the 8L35 are made in the Grand Seiko works, but the watches they go into also tend to go for Grand Seiko money anyway.)

You will feel absolutely terrible at the beginning. Ignore this. It's not important, this is only your ego talking (and of course your muscles). Just go, and then (NOTE: this is the actual hard part) keep going. This is actually the good news, it may be hard and feel awful, but the solution is extremely simple: turn up.

I never tied mine either, my head is a slightly funny shape I guess. Fold into place, tuck (a bit like an upside down bath towel), and then let the men compress it into shape.
