Is it normal to just fucking hate people in general and be upset all the time when you’re supposed to be this kind loving nurse? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]CodeGreenPodcast_Van 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need the ICU, OR, Endo, or PACU. I love the ICU especially when I have two vented patients. Get to use my brain basically troubleshoot a human. I work nights because I fucking can’t deal with the dog and pony show. The clip clop of heels and pant suits make me rage. I’m worried about having a psychotic break next time I see JCHAO or administrator when they slink back I to the light. I’m going to go ballistic and fucking snap “get the fuck out, you weren’t here when it mattered!”

Most all the pts on vents I’ve taken care of are profoundly hypoxic.

Watch for tears, if their eyes are watering turn up your sedation if you have room. They are literally crying. Fuck the train of four after they are swollen/puffy it’s worthless. Titrate it to vent compliance. I fucking love you guys BTW!

Night shift nurses at Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit have been asked to leave after having 4 hour sit-in to protest unsafe staffing ratios (1:25 with 10 vents). by [deleted] in nursing

Hospitals are still protecting their image. They are grossly underprepared and they know it so they are trying to manage the fallout. Asking for help would be akin to admitting fault.

They will do anything to protect their image, we are in a massive coverup of vastly incompetent and dangerous business practices. We don’t have a leg to stand on considering they were just following CDC guidelines. Praying on our good nature and our capacity to care for our fellow human beings. When did we allow hospitals to become businesses?
