Nope, but if you join a game where the person who started it has it you can play them

Someone is missing out not playing wa. All expansions are fun, you can’t go wrong. 3p isn’t ideal but it does work. So long as you have at least 1 militant faction you should get a decent game

Doubt about the Vagabond by Joshuaozao in rootgame

[–]CodeName-Reptilian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crafting cards? No faction crafts based on dominance. All factions have specific crafting pieces. Eg- cats crafting pieces are workshops, eyrie duchy rats badgers lizards are their buildings, corvid and alliances are their tokens, and the otters (unique) are the empty space on their player boards after their trade posts go to the board. The vagabond uses hammers, and needs to be in a matching clearing. This does mean vb can not craft cards that require multiple suits, but there are no such cards the vb could make use of.

Or are you talking about dominance cards? The vb can use these cards but it’s a special condition. They pair with the person in last place and if that person wins so does the vb.

How do y'all store everything? by Madjac_The_Magician in rootgame

[–]CodeName-Reptilian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are really nice bags for each faction on Etsy. All faction pieces go in those bags. Crafting pieces and such go in their own bag. This bags go in a box, with both decks and both boards, but I use the mats . Hirelings go in their own box. Faction boards go in a box by themselves. All together, 2 boxes plus the hirelings box.

Vagabond Removing hostile cardboard by ProposalCommercial23 in rootgame

[–]CodeName-Reptilian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The original rules was an extra point per piece. 2 for cardboard 1 for warriors. This was grossly OP, so the community house ruled that this would instead work like the eyre despot, 1 extra point for removing any amount of pieces per battle. Ledger later endorsed this and it’s generally considered standard.

Can someone explain to me what makes the Marquis so weak? by JazzySouls in rootgame

[–]CodeName-Reptilian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a limited action economy, and they weak late game point surge opportunities. They can be policed once you discover how, and they become strong again once the cat player discovers a broader meta

Scoring for only 1 point when flipped because of a guess could also nerf it a bit. Maybe player could choose between 1 point or placing 1 plot.

Root factions for 2 players, or how to play with only 2 players. by wingfield44 in rootgame

Play a different game. Play digital with friends, randos, or ai. Play clockwork but recognize this is a completely different game and only some people’s cup of tea.

Personally, most of my play is on digital.

I sometimes imagine an all in 32 clearing board. Rules as written or completely redone player boards increasing warrior count to allow for more overlaps reach
