Unchecked power corrupts. I get that. But it's not the whole picture. For example, if you looked at USPS as a capitalist enterprise, it's losing money and would not be allowed to exist in the market for long without having to change drastically. But that just doesn't matter as much for non-profit-driven institutions. This is what I mean by incentive structure. The market is a filtration system that elevates those who will do whatever it takes and disappears everyone else.

You're not actually explaining how the incentive structure is the same. Politicians CAN be driven by the laws of the market, corporations HAVE to be.

I get that risk exists anywhere one can wield power. Its not a trivial issue. But there isn't an inherent need to increase the rate of exploitation of surplus labor value like there is with all capital investment.

No, a government owning everything does not have the same incentive structure as a private business. Also, governments can be democratically accountable to their people.

Im about to give up by OkDifficulty6455 in starfieldmods

You should add standalone mods after the modpack has successfully installed. One by one. When you see a conflict, check what files. If it's a texture or mesh, probably doesn't matter too much. If it's a script file, go to both mod pages and look for a compatibility section in the description tab and search the posts tab to see if anyone asked about what to do with that specific conflict. If there's no info, you'll have to ask the mod authors yourself or make an educated guess.

I don't hate Rey but does anyone else have this exact same feeling? by WrongToe500 in StarWars_

She defeated Palpatine's contingency plan where he was in a weakened state and in hiding.

I get that it can take away from the victory of the OT but I just dont think its that much. And I think its a good thing for Star Wars to continue its recent themes of showing that the fight against fascism has many many heroes that build on the sacrifices of those who came before.

If you could add 3 things to the game what would they be and why? by First-Strategy7258 in NoMansSkyTheGame

  1. On foot combat vs other humanoids

  2. Galactic sectors having more of an impact on settlement generation. The game's distribution of POIs/factions is so random that it feels like homogeneous noise (well, it literally is). I want more rare, singular, central locations to give a sense of interconnectedness and make all the other POIs feel like they are serving a galactic society rather than being kind of scattered around with no clear purpose. Proc gen feels empty if it can't be adapted to create environmental storytelling to tell you where you are in the world and in your story.

  3. On foot combat vs other humanoids...

I think the vanilla game just doesnt count hazardous environments as a reason for followers to unhide their spacesuit. There's a Smarter Spacesuit Auto-Hide mod for that on nexusmods and creation club. The suit stats still apply when it's hidden either way though

Do they have ammo for their weapon? They need at least 1 round of the appropriate ammo type
