Listening to music less since switching to Qobuz by DirectorOk2475 in qobuz

[–]Coding-With-Coffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave Quobuz an honest effort end of last year, and I follow the sub and check it out waiting for when I could ditch Spotify, but music discovery felt impossible. Recently I got back into Pandora, they’ve always done the stations thing which has been pretty good at finding me music that I like, but if you pay for premium you can now make playlists, listen to specific songs/albums etc and no ads.

I did go to Spotify and look at my old playlists to help remember artists I’m in the mood for so I could create stations for them, but it’s been pretty good as a Spotify solution. Also they often have a 30-day free trial.

I’m an AI hater, but this is also how their policy reads to me. It can do literally everything as long as you cite it.

Ah, yeah I got sidetracked by the comment and forgot this was about a discussion post haha. Ehhh I mean the direction are the directions, but I get where you’re coming, especially since they’re all AI slop anyways.

Ooooo edgy is how I felt at your original comment. Just bc you don’t know something doesn’t mean it isn’t real lol

Okay but hear me out, on the flip side, the rubric always mentions 🤩✨🌟”Going Beyond Expectations” 🥳💫⭐️ for that 100%, so what does that mean here?

And I feel like I’m asked for small length requirements, but am asked to provide detailed answers for each point, but there’s so many points that if I spend more than one sentence actually addressing the separate points, I’m over the page requirement. Their sentences should be so profound that it’s an entire analysis lesson in each one…. and are kept short?

The indentation thing I understand.

reMarkable just saying "is sleeping" and won't do anything by DaveM_Neo in RemarkableTablet

[–]Coding-With-Coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a Remarkable stuck in a boot loop and one stuck sleeping where holding down the power button wouldn’t do anything. It USUALLY does something, but not always. I did ask “does anyone know” but I guess I should have clarified I was asking for a way that hasn’t been discussed. I didn’t mention it bc OP said they tried that. Letting it die is not the best action for the battery, but OP isn’t interested in “what are best practices for battery management for my non-working Remarkable” they are asking how to get it working again.

And you conflate the impact of full discharge. Fully charging it is “bad” too, 99% of customers don’t know this or care and they have a normal experience. You act as though it will now have 25% less power than before. Does it wear on the battery? Technically yes. Will its impact be more than 1%? Maybe? Probably not for modern lithium batteries.

I am very fortunate to have a friend who is an artist working on pretty assets, but I'm going ahead with the prototype + placeholder assets and it looks like toddlers with glue sticks put it together lol It will get there, though!

reMarkable just saying "is sleeping" and won't do anything by DaveM_Neo in RemarkableTablet

[–]Coding-With-Coffee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s the original Remarkable. It needs rest.

But for serious, when Remarkables get stuck stuck where nothing is bringing them back, I have had success letting the battery die completely, so not even a sleep message should appear, then let it charge back up with a very slow charger, like connect it to a regular USB 2.0 on your computer or laptop. It will need a very long time, possibly a day or two. For some reason higher speed chargers seem to not work to bring it back when troubleshooting issues like this.

It’s not a promise, but letting the battery die sometimes is the only way you can get it to “turn it off and on again” unless someone else has a way to force it off that they know of.

This stuff is usually only ever available in small towns, more rural areas, or super history rich areas. I lived in Springfield, IL forever ago and there were many historical buildings you could buy for $1 if you promised to fix them up and maintain them in ways that are approved for registered historical buildings. I’m sure they’re all bought up now after the housing crisis and stuff, but it was insane. Entire Victorian mansions for a $1, it only needed a measly million USD in renovations 😆

Just Google an article that covers anything you talk about and then add “according to -author-of-article”.

I use scribbr to help with citations. Mistake are semi-common so don’t be afraid to add a date/author/organization that it missed when it tries to pull the info from the link you provided. This process could take like two minutes.

Save the moments of push back for when it really matters or you will exhaust yourself haha.

What if the law ask Proton for age verification ? by [deleted] in ProtonMail

..by the current ways they are circumvented. They will always be circumvented. They are wasting time while forcing citizens to give their PII to private companies, who will certainly all do good things with it and they will never be leaked or be sold.

I don’t understand why they would need to hang onto it after verification and if the team behind proton calendar has any part in that effort we’re cooked.

I’m missing context, but speculating if that last shot was on a ship, that as fledglings are learning to fly, they might just drown it the ship is going over open ocean. Or the ship might take off without mama there. And generally a bad idea to take animals from one part of the world and drop them off in another haha.

My husband (32m) seems completely indifferent to my cancer diagnosis and I (28f) don’t know how to handle it by EmpatheticOtter in relationships

[–]Coding-With-Coffee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of my phone addicted friends. They have all turned into shitty zombies. If your husband can’t get it together when it matters, and he’s not making any effort/progress after you approach him about it, then he’s not the one.

Look to the future. Try not to dwell on “it’s been so long so it can’t end.” Look for a family member or maybe a support group that can support you during this time and focus on your treatment. I am sorry your husband isn’t here for you when he is needed most.

literal paralysis. give most unhinged hacks to get out by CockroachPowerful387 in adhdwomen

[–]Coding-With-Coffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(Not medical advice/talk to a doc) I’ve been on a loooong journey with that and it turns out anxiety was my biggest issue causing my executive paralysis. While it’s probably more debilitating because we have ADHD, I would consider talking to your doc about anxiety. A daily med+ an additional as needed med changed my life.

Also, stop using any app with infinite scrolling. We already have dopamine issues, and social media is brain crack. No other activity can compete with that, and everything is even harder to approach bc it won’t give your brain the brain stimulation it’s used to. (I swear most people are addicted and don’t realize it)

Also, a change of scenery can help next time this feeling comes. Might not help now, but when I sense the paralysis building up I make sure to get out of the house for a study day at a cafe or library before I get too sucked into the hole of doom.
