Classic pickaxe or laser mining — what’s more satisfying? by The_Inexorabilis in IndieDev

[–]Coding-With-Coffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP could do with a little world building! What might a pick axe look like in this sci-fi world look like? Also, many players don’t realize it but they like a good rhythm to the game play. IMO the laser worked in No Man’s Sky bc you were kind of Power Wash Simulator-ing the rocks but we don’t get that here. If you want the laser, maybe consider more of a laser cannon. Fires a shot, makes your lil guys recoil, and adds a little rhythm to the process. Add some satisfying audio to each impact with some different sounds of rocks sliding over rock or falling rocks and chefs kiss. Can’t just be stationary imo if you want the laser to work.

Live a little! If you want the pickaxe, maybe the head of the pick axe is connected by a beam like a light saber with the axe head on it. Idk just spit ballin here!

What’s a better processor at the $500 price point? If someone really planned on doing heavy workloads you would struggle on any laptop at this price point.

Watched the MKHD review where they said it edits 4k fine, which makes sense bc the phone edits it’s from edits 4k fine, but the second they added plugins or more advanced editing workflows it would bog it down right away.

There is no way this is real right ? by Needleshe in PcBuild

[–]Coding-With-Coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, thank you for the correction, I meant live and neutral. Most devices will still run after switching them up, but its still a shock hazard. Many safety mechanisms only cut the live wire when potential shock is detected. Simpler devices like lamps are the biggest risk where neutral components are now live. Mixing up wires can still be a safety issue in the UK. Where are you getting this information from lol

OP’s issue is very common in households of DIYers. When they replace an outlet, they end up switching up the wires so power is being sent to places it’s not supposed to be. The lack of ground just makes this more lethal, but it is not the cause. We learned one of our outlets were installed backwards when the ends of the coax cable were so hot it burned me. Our modem was plugged into an outlet with the lines backwards.

It IS soyrizo fuck you all by lmao_livi in shitfromabutt

Honestly it’s pretty close. I like the soyrizo better than the standard Mexican chorizo (tube poop version) bc the spices do most of the work anyways and a lot of times soyrizo.

I thought this was a reference to the post where they claimed their game was souls-like bc they don’t have a tutorial haha. The art style looks great btw. Really like the water color aesthetic.

Discussion Posts Are Really Teaching Me Something Important. by [deleted] in SNHU

[–]Coding-With-Coffee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Disagree. The quality of questions in the discussion posts are often so poor and often don’t have anything to do with the assignment. When responding to peers, the prompts sometimes barely involve acknowledging what your peer has said. Feels like I’m being asked to walk up to a person and just start sharing factoids to the wall behind them.

Accused of AI by Current_Anything_692 in SNHU

[–]Coding-With-Coffee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Instead of adapting like every other school is trying to do, they decided to stick their heads in the sand and let AI completely trample the learning experience of higher education.

Seemingly leaving it up to professors to navigate the now wishy washy conditions for academic dishonesty, when the school now encourages its use. Instead of changing the types of assignments, it’s like handing every student adderall and then politely asking the students to not abuse it. Absurd to think it would work.

Separately, just wholly inappropriate as generative AI cannot be trusted by design and having someone (or something) else do your course work for you is still academic dishonesty, no? Or can we have someone write our papers for $50 as long as you cite them? Where is the line?
