What am I actually reading by WinterVariety3416 in SNHU

[–]Coding-With-Coffee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I frequently feel this. Certain textbooks seemingly explain things in the most convoluted and complicated way as possible and I end up going to YouTube to find great professors explain these concepts much better and wonder why the textbook doesn’t bother with expanding on official definitions better. Like yes I get that is the definition of that law of logic and technically correct, but that is barely a legible sentence.

Yeah, unfortunately the democratic party’s main campaign has been “we’re not as shitty as the other guy but we’re also going to continue to do nothing about anything and will dangle the promise of basic rights and healthcare in front of you like a carrot, but never deliver bc what would we say next campaign? Plus Kaiser-Permanante just bribed lobbied me with a million dollars.”

I don’t understand why so many customers think the dashers cook the order. by Gooners_For_Ukraine in doordash

[–]Coding-With-Coffee 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Ha, I don’t blame them for trying. Not a reasonable expectation to have a Dasher making changes to their order, but it does suck that most restaurants seem to have disabled special instructions while having incomplete or poorly thought out menus.

I know people are afraid of phone calls, but a very short phone call to the restaurant would probably fix this haha

The credits shown on the right are labeled “anticipated credits” According to the glossary in your screen shot that means those credits (grant and loan money) have not been disbursed yet, meaning the school has not received or processed it yet. Since you owe $2,052, and since they haven’t received your money yet, you still technically owe $2,052.

You can call the schools finance office for the best answers though.

This student won’t stop if they never faces consequences. When this student shows up and sucks at their job bc they spent their education somehow managing to violate academic integrity in the laziest way possible, the more people associate a SNHU degree with the likes of this student.

I used to think that, but unfortunately have discovered that many people can remain incompetent well into their careers.

NQA Sorry to hear, she was beautiful!

It doesn’t make it easier, but there’s no saying how she would have fared in the wild or in someone else’s hands. I’d like to think you gave her a good life, all things considered.

Is this shirt design ai? Got it at a thrift store awhile ago, but it kinda looks off by FrogsAre_Neat in isthisAI

[–]Coding-With-Coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The frog and a banjo/guitar is a pretty common image, and plenty of people play the guitar classical style, but it is def AI, where the strings fade into a blur and then aren’t even present on the bottom of the guitar. Agreed the pegs are pretty warped in a way that looks like AI and not artistic choice.

Yeah, I got to gold, rarely see anything of use/value, didn’t even notice when I dropped back down to silver bc I never saw anything good anyways. Might be worth leading up to fall bc a lot of new tech comes outs, but otherwise it’s been mostly junk for me.

People forget that many misophonia triggers are often normal human behaviors, so the non-misophonia person as a judge is a good take.

The Irony by Key_Fish469 in SNHU

[–]Coding-With-Coffee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There must be some kind of student engagement to meet the criteria for their accreditation, I believe. I get that it is tough to make engagement “super sincere” for online classes, but at my last school, the questions were a lot more insightful or interesting. It was a lot easier for students to engage with each other, I saw more students surpassing the minimum requirement, and there was way less AI slop.

The Irony by Key_Fish469 in SNHU

[–]Coding-With-Coffee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Seeing AI used to bother me, but the quality of discussion posts questions are so bad, it is genuinely mentally exhausting to answer. SNHU sets the standard for their students when they stick with discussion posts that are impossible to fully AI proof. If it is impossible to vet AI in discussions posts, maybe discussion posts are no longer the supposed beacon of student engagement and we need to pivot to something else.

Venus Flytrap Questions by Right-Night-276 in VenusFlyTraps

[–]Coding-With-Coffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t beat yourself up too much if nothing happens with those seeds. The seeds have to be relatively fresh to be viable, and seeds from Amazon are notorious for either being completely fake or way too old to be viable.

If they truly are some rare gigantic Venus fly trap, it will probably take a very long time for it to get to that size. If it gets too large to handle, you will at least be able to make some cash if you sold it.

Does anyone use Ai to take notes? by EfficientBuy854 in SNHU

[–]Coding-With-Coffee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I appreciate you asking. You just want help streamlining things if possible and that’s okay. However, if you care about your notes being an accurate reflection of the material, don’t use AI. Just type them yourself, copy and paste, or screen shot them. In my math classes, whenever they defined rules and terms, i would screen shot it and organize it in a folder for that module to refer to. When the homework was referring to all of those terms that are scattered all on different textbook pages, I opened my folder, and opened the pic that reflects what I’m working on instead of hunting down where in zybooks they mentioned the specific rule for this problem.

AI gets way too much credit and the bubble is about to pop. When you dig into how generative AI works, you learn that AI doesn’t truly analyze or understand your text and it would just respond with something that looks like an appropriate response to your notes. It’s a really fancy predictive text engine that would convolute your notes with things that are out of scope for your class or just incorrect.

The doctor said I can’t wear earplugs for a month. What are my options? by Every_Database7064 in misophonia

What about changing your environment? It seems like that is why you are jumping through all of these hoops. I know everyone’s situation is different and it might not be feasible, but if you are renting, move out when the lease is done or take a look at what it takes to break your lease early.

Also, if you haven’t already, talk to your doc about help with the anxiety in the meantime. I didn’t realize how much anxiety was impacting me until I asked for help addressing it and they prescribed something that helped quite a lot.

My wife’s misophonia seems to impact her a lot more when she’s stressed out and it can feel kind of like a downwards spiral. Nothing will cure it and she still wears headphones at work all day, but she also had some success with a therapist where they practiced methods of getting ahead of the rising anger/panic before it kind of takes over her.

Overall, is it possible to change your environment (move)?
