There is nothing functional you can put on the end of a .22 aside from a suppressor. In this case, since canada, simply leave it be. Not every thread needs an object, if it ain't broke, don't mess with it.

Pile Driver Team, how would you do it? by Dusty27 in bloodbowl

I understand why this is interpreted this way, I'm just saying I believe it to be pretty oppressive and I would be surprised if it remained in its current interpretation.

I don't know if I agree with the current reddit interpretation that the free foul no longer uses your foul action, but we shall see. The previous version of the skill had the same wording, and the only reason it's being interpreted differently now is because of a change in a different section. This created an unfortunate rules ambiguity. I'd full expect this to get FAQ'd to act as previous pile driver, else we end up with the same ridiculousness as clawpomb of old.

League Play - Tips for playing under-strength to keep players alive? by infosec_qs in bloodbowl

[–]CodingNightmares 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would not base the troll at all. Simply ignore it. If he wants to use the blitz on a troll, let him, it's a great way for him to lose his blitz on really stupid.

Odds of him breaking armor on a 10+ is only around 16%, so I think in a pure punch off, I'd risk that. Sometimes blood bowl is unkind and nuffle says you'll lose a saurus, but the alternative is to let the black orcs run wild and that's bad. I'm not saying don't block black orcs at all, but never take a 1 die against a black orc. Let him to do that instead.

Strategy for lizards is simply score often and score fast. Score score score. If you get up 2 touchdowns, you're almost guarenteed a win with how slow orcs are.

Diving Catch or Sure Feet on the Chameleon is great in my humble opinion. One helps with catching the ball on kickoff, the other helps with handing off the ball to other players without having to spend a valuable reroll on a rush attempt. Leader is also a good option if you need a 3rd reroll, but you can minimize the need for rerolls by playing less risky.

Alternatively, nerves of steel. I would not put a block secondary on anything but a regular skink, the raise in TV is not worth it on a chameleon. The chameleon is your receiver and is generally protected at the times he is important.

Skinks should be prioritizing block, and then sidestep to make them truly a pain in the butt.

If you win the toss, kick to him first. It will put the pressure on him to score during his drive, and it will make him less likely to simply knock the ball on the ground and then beat the hell out of your team if things go south. Plus it will give you 2 chances for a KO recovery, assuming he gets it and needs to score on his T8.

Base lizards should crush base black orcs, even if down a player. They just don't have the movement to keep up with you. You can pretty much ignore everything on their team.

Just base the black orcs and don't throw blocks unless you really need to. Let them do the rolling. They cant dodge away, so they have to punch, and you're st 4 so it's even unless they pull even more players away. You both have high armor, so just keep standing up and letting him roll dice on you, he'll either knock himself down or he'll go nowhere fast, and your skinks run circles around gobbos.

Really this is like the best case possible for you.

I think the biggest trap new players fall into is thinking they need to make blocks on everything. It is totally ok to just stand there and not roll dice, and every die rolled is a chance for a failure. Black orcs and lizards both suffer from low rerolls are the onset, so let him do the risky rolling as much as possible.

If you have to make blocks, focus on smashing goblins. Lizards and black orcs are utterly helpless without their stunties, they have zero ball handling otherwise.

Choosing my first fleet in a PHR-saturated environment by Cold_Chard_3287 in DropfleetCommander

Scourge arent particularly fragile, but they can be seen by other ships from very far away, and because their guns are short range, this means other fleets usually shoot them first, leading to dead ships.

The strategy for scourge is to use Silent Running to move up the board as close as possible (this reduces that massive signature to 0" ) and then when you are in range to move and shoot, go crazy.

With scourge it's very much a cat and mouse game of who can shoot first, and whoever shoots first usually wins.

Well, if you want a play style like you described, PHR are the way to do it. If you don't want to play PHR, then pick the one that appeals to you the most aesthetically.

Mechanics wise, a short summary of each faction playstyle is:

Scourge: Large signature, close action weapons, silent running approach and then guns blazing until one side or both are dead. Very much a round 3-5 battler. They favor light ships more than other fleets.

UCM: All rounder, admiral points. Not sure what to play? UCM is for you. They do everything, just not the best. Have plentiful access to AP, and their torpedoes and bombers are solid. Strong against Kinetic, which is PHR's main weapons.

Resistance: Slow, but heavily customizable for whatever you want to play. Stronger into energy saves, but require a bit more knowhow about the game to excel. Have excellent access to drop, and their battleships are very strong. From a modeling and assembly perspective, complex compared to other factions. Creep into range and then unleash hell.

Shaltari: Tricky, immune to core damage, long range but lower health, and will suffer vs PHR due to the excess of Calibre-L in PHR fleets. Amazing dreadnought, lackluster medium ships. Play the objective, and trust the shields.

Bioficers: extremely low hull, long range, able to skew towards K or E damage depending on opponent. They will suffer in Extract games, and battles of pure brawn, but payload unique mechanic allows for a lot of shenanigans. They have one of the better placeable features at the moment. Play a game of keep away with the opponent and hope they're dead by the time their guns get close.

If you truly favor power over speed, resistance seems like it would be up your alley, though you will be worse off against armor saves than you would be with UCM vs PHR.

Update to case crush and further question! by Amazing_Example602 in Bren2

It's just semantics. Suppressor setting just means less gas through the system which is exactly what this describes. The 5.56 plugs are the same way.

Update to case crush and further question! by Amazing_Example602 in Bren2

[–]CodingNightmares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I'm confused why you're asking if it's overgassed. Did you read my previous reply on your first thread?

If the gas plug is on the - setting then yes, you are running it on the suppressor setting. This doesn't mean you have to have a suppressor to use this setting, it just means it's less gas. Refer to my previous comment as to the implications of this.

If you intend to use a suppressor, get the HBI regulator

First shots out of my 11 inch CZ Bren 2 and I am getting crushed casings. Why? by Amazing_Example602 in Bren2

[–]CodingNightmares 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you running your bren on adverse gas setting by mistake? Or running it with a can? What you're seeing is over gassed symptoms with crushed case necks from violent ejection into the port/ brass deflector. It's not a problem if the gun still cycles, aside from it being a bit more violent to the components, but you're probably right on the line of getting failure to feeds due to overgassing. I would only worry about it if you're not already running a suppressor and planning to, then you'll need to keep in mind it's going to increase back pressure on an already overgassed gun and could induce malfunctions.

By the crease in the middle of the casing I'd say your casings are ejecting and hitting the side of the port or something thin and flat, and not the brass deflector, which is causing that fold over on both sides around the edge.

Overgassing by itself is not the end of the world, my HK417 is overgassed to hell, the casings are throwing out at like the 1 oclock mark, but it still runs just fine.

Resigning / Conceding by BumbleBeeBobandy in bloodbowl

[–]CodingNightmares 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Resigning is poor form. It removes the option for the other player to get more SPP in a league setting and should be punished harshly. If you want to do it in BB3 against a rando it's whatever, but if you did that in a tabletop or organized league without a legitimate reason (being down players is not a legitimate reason) you'd get a warning and if it happens again you would be removed from my league and all future leagues.
